You are the man! I love this idea and you have put the work into the rules on the front end. Well done.
I think it would be either a 911 or 914 for me.
porsche917ModeratorThanks for the update. Looking forward to racing this coming Saturday.
porsche917ModeratorDavid posted on the home page – I spent a lot of time Saturday running my F1 with new NSR gears had no problem it ran very smooth. NSR gears is what we will use for this race.
porsche917ModeratorAfter looking back at the previous series it will be the total time that determines positions. No points are awarded it’s just your total time.
Running order for any race is the leader in points goes first and the last place person goes last.
There will only be an “A” class for the individual and overall race results.
porsche917ModeratorThanks for posting this. Good to have some clarification on the race times.
porsche917ModeratorRevoSlot for 2022!
I am sure everyone remembers the rear tire issues we ran into when running the RevoSlot cars. There were a couple of different options tried ranging from Paul Gage tires mounted to the stock RevoSlot wheels to changing out the 3mm axle for a 3/32 which involves the change of wheels, axle, and bushings. This option would possibly work but it’s expensive and you now have mismatched wheels from the front to rear.
Wouldn’t it be great if someone made a RevoSlot wheel that would work with a Slot It F30 or NSR Supergrip tire?
I am here to make your dreams come true. Working with Steve at Slot Car Corner for the past nine months we now have CBD rear wheels that work on the 3mm axle and will allow you to run a Slot It or NSR tire. These wheels have not been announced publicly but will be very soon. These wheels are going to be available in a 8mm width and a 10mm width. CB Designs has produced wheel inserts that match the ones used on the RevoSlot cars. This had to be done as the RevoSlot wheel inserts come in multiple sizes and would have made producing wheels with different size interiors a pain in the *ss.
This should make running any RevoSlot car much easier and more enjoyable. The RevoSlot cars were already great running. This one tweak will make them even better.
porsche917ModeratorI would suggest keeping the rules for the cars as stock as possible. I don’t see a need to upgrade or change wheels or tires as the stock ones work well. This will also help keep costs down.
Having said that, the crown gear could be another conversation.
porsche917ModeratorAre we allowed to put nail polish or other compound on the front wheels to lessen the grip?

porsche917ModeratorNice work Russell. I agree with your assessment of axle collars. I’m going to try running without them to see how it goes.
Marty
porsche917ModeratorThat looks great. How does it drive?

porsche917ModeratorLooking forward to finally running on the rally track! Thanks for the heads up.
porsche917ModeratorAt this time I would say it is up to the series manager to decide whether or not the Slot It crown gears are allowed. Please post any concerns here so David can review them.
porsche917ModeratorQuestion and Comment about Testing on the Rally Track
The original idea behind the rally track was that it would not be open for members to use anytime they wanted to like the road course. This was done so the track would be a new-ish experience for everyone that raced on it. Having said that, there were scheduled practices so everyone knew when the track would be open for practice but it was fair because everyone had an opportunity to run. I suggest running the same format for this upcoming series where there are scheduled practices that are open to everyone. The track is kept covered all other times. Thoughts?

porsche917ModeratorI am all for having the club open one evening during a weekday. I want the club to decide if this is open to the public. If we decide it is, we will need to guarantee someone will be there to welcome anyone coming to check us out. I never want someone coming by during our published open hours and not have anyone there. Our first impression is key to someone coming back.
We can build a simple schedule to have members sign up for spots so we know who will be there. I don’t want this to fall on just one person’s shoulders.
We will also need to establish our hours so I can get those published on the handouts and our Google page.
Let’s firm up the plans during our next club meeting on the 19th. Please posts any thoughts on this forum thread.
porsche917ModeratorYou bring up a great point. This was one of the topics we discussed as part of our re-opening during our club meeting two months ago. I wanted to be able to post hours on Google that I could guarantee we would have someone there. We talked about being open Thursday evenings from 6-9 but there were concerns about the safety of the area later in the evenings. Mark said he would commit to being there but I would prefer more than one person be there for safety’s sake.
I think this is a topic we need to talk about again and see if there are any alternatives we are currently not exploring. Maybe be open from 5-8 or 6-8 so we are at least leaving when there is still daylight.
I will put this on the agenda for the next club meeting – June 19th.
By the way, it was great having you race with us again. You did amazing considering your time away from the club.
