2014 Targa Florio (1967 to 1972)

During its time, the Targa Florio was the oldest sports car racing event in the world. The ASCC version of this series gives racers a chance to recreate a scale experience of this classic event. An open series, it will test hobbyist’s abilities in building, tuning, and racing these classic cars. With so many cars from this era available, the series will require drivers to register their car with the organizers to avoid duplication of liveries.


Entrance fee per race is $5 for ASCC members and $10 for non-members.


  1. Car must have competed between 1967 and 1972. 
  2. Only one entry of each manufacture’s livery will be allowed. Drivers must register their cars with the organizers to avoid duplication of cars in the entry field.
  3. Commercially available plastic chassis.
  4. Weight may be added to the bottom of the chassis as long as a minimum ground clearance of 2mm is maintained and it is affixed with adhesive that prevent it from coming loose under racing conditions.
  5. Open motor selection.
  6. Scale wheels for the chosen car using rubber or urethane tires.
  7. Period fantasy liveries are allowed.
  8. Timing and Scoring: 
    • Drivers must complete 72 laps per heat for a total of 1080 laps over the series. (72 laps x 3 heats per race x 5 counted races.) Drivers who complete more than 5 races will be allowed to drop their 3 poorest heats. (One from each lane.)  Their total time will be calculated from the selected 15 heats.  There are no points awarded for each race in this series.  Placement will be determined by the amount of time spent covering the required distance.
