Kim, it is unlikely anyone will notice the grub screw on the nylon wheel, so it has probably not been discussed as a legal issue.  I know that to use the existing axle I didn’t drill out the wheel bigger, I ground the knurled ends smooth to maintain good fit.  I don’t remember if/how I drilled a grub screw hole.

Yes indeed, the proxy driver liked the car.  Fly the flag at the front of the pack.

Was the magnetic down force specific to a model that put the motor at a unique location above the track?  Or was it a batch of motors that are stronger magnetically.  My Elva motor is faster on the dynamometer than my Lola for no obvious reason.

I am using inserts from our previous series that are racing mag wheels that I saw in an old picture.  If that is upsetting the scrutineer, let me know early.

Are we going to have some slot car versions of the cars banned from our series like the Ferrari ban last time we raced?

Can a Chaparral body and wing from another company be used on the Thunderslot chassis for this series?

I l0ve that body color, but you may need to perform surgery and/or get a dispensation for the driver and Lexan interior.

Pendle Slot has an interesting new 3D product.  As my late Uncle Ron said real fast, “Oh My” .

The rules say “Only the stock wheel inserts on the car as sold are allowed.”  This is not working because I have not been able to find a replacement for an insert that flew off behind the race track.  Therefor the rules are changed by me, the manager, to “The wheel inserts may be the stock inserts or after market inserts of which all four are the same of a type used in the era or in vintage racing.”

I am also sending an email on this topic.

I expect numerous changes to cars when new parts arrive and are installed before the next race.

Which tires were you using for the first race?  Brand should be RevoSlot or urethane, and which hardness from 22-35.

We could see rubber pebbles on the track in every lane and the cars were vibrating from pebbles stuck to tires.

Does anyone have a suggestion for tires that are commonly available which do not “shed”?

I have wondered about the controller disparity also.  If I used my controller finger correctly it would help probably.  I hope you can get here Saturday.

Please use the screw with the closest configuration that you have with any slot, hex, torq.  I will not DQ you, (just don’t beat me).

Since I could not navigate the 132 website to the gear selections, I went with the December Party test and the separate individual tests which showed the stock gears to be slugs below 12.6 V.  (I assume none of the 4 cars had modified the gear selection.)

I respect your wisdom on this subject.  I need major change of direction supported by the members who tested at the December meeting.

                                https://132slotcar.us/revoslot-1-32-scale-slot-car-spare-parts/page-7

This is a website location on 132slotcars buried in the RevoSlot header, sub header RevoSlot Parts with the gears.

Depending on the first race I may change my gearing to reduce the rpm.  I have found that completing laps is more valuable that fastest lap.

Let’s meet after the first race.

Two problems have been identified on the RevoSlot cars.

                                  1. The Alfa Romeo motor shaft sticks beyond the pinion far enough to rub the rear wheel and tire.  Therefor we will allow the motor shaft to be ground or cut off at the pinion.

                                  2. The Datsun 510 has a manufacture error on the motor bracket causing loose or misaligned motor.  A cure for this has not been identified.  More information will be included in the rules.

Another issue is the voltage for the race.  Due to dusty track the 12 volt test seems to be causing wheel spin around the course.  Another test will be run at the Dec. 21 meeting on the clean track.

                                  Randy
