I will run one or the other of these. Leaning towards the escort slightly at this point.

i used to be able to post photos in the body of the msg, but that option is missing now.

    Hello? Anyone there? Dave?

Would like to discuss having the option of Paul Gage Tires. Especially with how out-of-round my Revo tires have been.

I do hope the urethanes will be allowed. Especially since we are getting more flexible with tire choices in other spec series like
    Group C.

    Marty,

Paul Gage has urethane tires sized for the Revo grp 2. They do not have the central rib, so may be tricky to mount properly.

Weather started out stormy for Austin Slot Car Club folks coming down from Austin to Sisterdale this past Sunday to visit Spottswood motor park, my 2 lane routed track. By early afternoon, the clouds had mostly moved out and temperatures were pleasant enough to open doors and windows in the track room.

Russell M was first to arrive, with his pit box filled with a bunch of interesting cars, including a totally custom shorty Dodge Sportsman surf van, and a couple tiny Birdcage Maseratis from CG Slot Cars. Russ really should do a build thread on the van, the workmanship is incredible, as always.

Next to pull up was Brian H, and new ASCC member Melvin. Melvin came equipped with his day-glo green slot.it GT40, and Brian with a variety of cars from the current Group C and Ford v Ferrari club race series. It was very gratifying to see the track populated with fresh cars and drivers.

Randy A arrived with another Birdcage Maserati, a Policar March F1, and a club controller for Melvin as well of plenty of stories. John B was close behind with his Group C and Ford v Ferrari cars. Mark L took a wrong turn and showed up a little later, ran some laps with a slot.it Skyline and got a tour of the workshop.

It was really interesting to see people getting the hang of the track. I got some valuable feedback. The main trouble currently is the guardrail behind the long sweeping curve at the back. I’m going to look into a couple solutions to minimize scuffing cars as they hang their tails out. Driver stations seem good where they are, but I may swap positions of the yellow and green stations for better visibility. We ran only practice laps, so it remains to be seen how to handle corner marshaling during a race. I do hope the club can come out for a actual event, even if it is a non points race.

I really enjoyed having folks out to the track, to visit and run our little cars. Let’s do it again sometime!

Hello, all, I figured I would wake this thread up in order to start a discussion about having a track day out here in the near future. Here are the basics on Spottswood Motor Park

So the questions are when? (Late January? Later?)
What would you like to run? The track is shorter and narrower than the club track, so bear that in mind 🙂

Would like to hear your thoughts.
    Thanks for your time.

    I’d like to run the 412p #11/Mairesse & Beurlys. Spa 1967

    Two questions.

About tires, I have the stock fronts on currently which are 9.3mm wide. Are they not legal?

About guide: Is it legal to alter the shape of the guide (rounding sharp corners, etc.)?

    Thanks!

The Monte part 2 is official!

I will be updating-revising rules from the 2022 Monte.

    Some changes-clarifications on tap are:

Rear tire width to distinguish class A from class B (8mm cutoff, rather than 9mm)

One entry per club member per class.

    No duplicate liveries.

    Plastic chassis only.

What do you think of 30 laps rather than 40, to speed things along?

    Thoughts?

Do we know who theories manager is yet? The Mk1 Scirocco, Mk1 Escort and Mk1 Capri overlap production dates.

Marty, I just saw this car list for the BRM after ordering the Scirocco 🙁
I was not able to weigh in on this.

    Is it final?
