The final round of the Thunderslot 2018 Series did not disappoint; the series went down to the wire. Going in, Marty and Shawn were tied for the lead in Group A. Shawn was hampered by some rhythm-breaking track calls in his first two heats but put up a valiant effort to try to catch Marty, turning in the fastest race lap, but Marty won the race, so they ended up tied in points. The final series went to Marty as he had more total laps; you can’t get much closer than that. David finished third in Race 6 and third in the series and Steve was fourth in the race and fifth in the series. Russell finished fifth in Race 6 and fourth in the series. Mark had some car problems and trailed the field.
Randy was unable to make Race 6 and compete in his close race with John for Group B. After some disappointing finishes, John came back in the final race to finish the series in First in Group B.
This turned out to be a very enjoyable series, as the cars were closely matched, stable, and fun to drive. The cars were quick out of the box and fairly easy to set up. I think that I can speak for the entrants in wanting to run this series again, especially as more cars are produced by Thunderslot.
