This sounds like an internal proxy race. Everyone could prepare one car and everyone drives it on every lane to determine what car is the best. Is this along the lines of what everyone is thinking?

I would like to see us go with the 1969-1971 Trans-Am series first. As a group lets confirm the rules as we have laid them out.
        -Scalextric or Pioneer Cars only.
        -No magnets.
-Weight may be added inside the car. Any added weight should not be visable.
-Any rear tire may be used.
-All other parts must remain on or in the car and must be stock.

        Questions
        1. Are you allowed to sand the stock front tires?
        2. Would we hold these races on off weekends or after the Slot It Challenge races?
        3. Would we produce a race flyer for this event to get more participation from more of Kings customers?
        4. Would race fee’s be the same as they are for the Slot It Challenge?
        5. Would the heat structure be the same as the Slot It Challenge?
        6. What date would we start the races?
        7. Would we run the Trans-Am races along with one of the other races that have been suggested – BRM, modern F1, GT unlimited?

Once we answer these questions we should get it posted on the events calendar.

I know there isn’t any streaming and I don’t think there is any audio as well. This is when I wish I had a DVR!

There appears to be interest in running a 1/24 scale class. Now all we need to do is decide if we are talking Carrera, BRM, Scaleauto or Avant Slot. From a marketing perspective the Carrera choice would be easy as Kings and Hobby Town already sell them. From a cost perspective Carrera are the cheapest to purchase. Does anyone know if Carrera USA would support a series with some product and marketing support? The big downside to a Carrera series is the lack of quality of the cars and the lack of aftermarket tuning parts.

BRM has a great series that we could run all over the country and get a BRM Challenge race at our track. The cars are, for the most part, great. They drawback is the initial cost to the members that don’t own one and getting Kings to pick them up so we could host a BRM Challenge race.

Having said all this, I don’t even know if we can run three 1/24 scale cars on the track. We need to try three cars at once to make sure it will work. How about everyone bringing a 1/24 scale car to run this Thursday evening.

            See you guys on Thursday.

Fantastic job! Did you paint the drivers helmet to be Aryton Senna?

Did you clear coat the decals so they won’t come off in case you ever crash?

Great video. I love the Ken Miles part. One of my favorite drivers.

They all look tasty! Are you going to run any of those or are they for display only?

Does anyone else in the club have any trucks they would like to run?

I don’t know if I was belly aching as much as I was complaining about Ary de-slotting and causing me to loose my concentration and crash. That was my major concern.

Having never prepped a new motor for a series I was not happy with the initial low RPM of the motor but knew on Thursday night it was running better. Thursday evening I recorded 17,600 at 10.20v and could feel the car getting faster as the night went on.

                      Clyde,

You can google it and come up with numerous results for the most popular Pyramid PS26KX 22 amp power supply. Locally you could try Fry’s or Altex. I have not paid more than $100 for the three I have purchased. It is a great unit. Good luck.

                        Shawn,

Have you run the ugly duck with the new motor yet? I won’t ask you for any lap times.

I have seen this guys work on https://www.Slotracinglemans.com. There are also pics of my all time favorite track the Spa 6 laner. The site is dedicated to 1/24 scale hardbody racing. You can see some super cool cars with loads of detailing. In all that I have read I have yet to see a price for any of these cars. Does anyone have any idea of what one would sell for?

                            Bruce,

Good to hear you are going to try and make it. It would be great to have you join us. The motors come with lead wires and a 9 tooth pinion.

                            Thanks,

Those are some great times! What did you do to get the times that low? I know you were looking at lowering the front and getting another chassis. Did you complete those changes? Was there anyone else running on the track when you were there?
