Keymaster
Define irregular.
Shawn,
We will discuss this during April’s club meting.

KeymasterRule-set has been made final.

KeymasterFYI: Inspection will require body OFF.
I will not disqualify any competitor for irregular cars but each irregularity will cost 5 laps. If it is not explicitly allowed in the rules – don’t mess with it.

KeymasterChanging rules to allow 15.8 to 16.5mm wheels.
Have not made my mind regarding tires but I’m leaning towards not allowing Slot.it’s zero grips — too wide.

KeymasterWheels rules need to be checked. Self reminder.

Keymaster
Guide may not project beyond the body when aligned for straight, as viewed from directly above. Exception to the rule applies to the guide keel (only).
The rule is to prevent guides being mounted beyond the body but still allowing guides, such as Scaleauto’s, where the keel go past the forward most point of the base, to be used.

KeymasterAs per voting during the club’s February 2017 meeting, the sidecar series has been cancelled and will be replaced by Touring Cars (BTCC) based on Scalextric.
The BRM Sidecar rules page will not be listed in the 2017 race rules menu but will stay published on the club’s website for reference. The page can be accessed via this link: http://austinslotcarclub.com/2017-racing-series/2017-brm-sidecars/.

KeymasterAll, major changes have been made to the series rules, please review a.s.a.p. and discuss them here.
Changes summary:

KeymasterSuggest removing this:
- Wings must always be in place during green flag conditions. If wing becomes detached from a car, the wing must be refitted to the car under green flag conditions. The race will not stop for a wing incident. If the driver fails to replace the wing before the end of the heat, a 10 lap penalty will be imposed and laps will not count onwards until the wing is re-placed. If the wing becomes detached in the last 5 seconds of the race (Equivalent to the last lap) no penalty will be imposed.
No “wings” on 917’s.

Keymaster
I recommend a revision of the rules in this series that allow for the individual racers to adjust the voltage for their own stint. This series spotlights how fast a racer can drive his car around the track, why not let the racer tune the track to the car’s utmost ability? Not to mention that different brands are designed to run at various voltages. While NSR runs fast at 12 volts; brands like SCX and Ninco are designed to run at a higher voltages (14-18 volts). What are your thoughts?
Voted to be implemented on Club’s January meeting.
