Come check out the Austin Slot Car Club!

Formed in 2009, the Austin Slot Car Club is a mix of enthusiasts from all over the world with a passion for auto racing, music, and of course slot cars.  We believe in sharing our passion for slot cars by helping others discover how fun and rewarding the hobby can be.

We welcome anyone with an interest in the hobby, racing, or is just curious.  The club is set up to help people with an interest get a better understanding of the hobby and how to get the most enjoyment out of running slot cars.

Checking out the hobby and club is easy. The club is open on race weekends from 1 PM to 5 PM and we host an “Open House Saturday” once a month.  Check our racing calendar, read our race reports, and participate in discussions about the hobby on our website or our Facebook page.

Open House Saturdays are dedicated time where club members will be available for visitors to come learn about the hobby, talk to members, and run some laps on our custom built wood tracks.  The club will have cars and controllers on hand for use by visitors, but if you have your own cars, bring them along!

Two important notes regarding running your own cars:
1) The brand of the slot car doesn’t matter, but we only support analog cars in 1:43, 1:32, and 1:24 scales.
2) We only allow cars with untreated rubber or urethane tires to run on our track. If your personal cars have silicone tires, treated foam tires, or oil-soaked or other traction compound treated rubber tires you will not be able to run them on our track. This is to protect our racing surface from contamination. We appreciate your understanding and compliance to this rule.

Visitors are also always welcome on race weekends, but due to the demands of our scheduled races on those days it can be a bit more difficult to get visitors on the track to enjoy some laps.  But it is a great opportunity to see our races in action and gain an understand of how that part of the hobby works.

The club is located in a warehouse complex at 8222 Jamestown Rd, suite E2.  We are in the far northeast corner of the complex.

That is a good overview for someone checking out the site. I think having this info right up front was a great idea.
