It was an exciting start of a new racing season.
The lineup of cars this season was a good representation of makes. Steve and Rich were running Alfa Romero 156 GTA models, Marty and Russell were running BMW’s, David and Mark were running Subaru Impresa’s Ary was running a Volkswagen Golf, Alejandro was running a Renault Cleo and Shawn was racing a Seat Leon. Nine racers in all.
The 1st heat started withAutorama 72 laps, H. Kitty Racing 66 laps,

2nd heat Alex 62 laps, Chapsracer 65 67 laps, Autorama 72 laps.
3rd heat Turboman93 70 laps, Autorama 71 laps, Alex 61 laps.

The final count was #1 Porsche917 with 220 laps. #2 Autorama 215 laps. #3 KeinMitleid 212 laps. #4 Turboman93 211 laps. #5 Butch 205 laps. # 6 H. Kitty Racing 202 laps. #7 Chapsracer65 200 laps. #8 Alex 191 and #9 Spyder 101 laps.
We had very good competitors this season for the first race. Everyone started off burning up the track. All the cars were flying! Alejandro came on strong as a Rookie driver. He will be giving the B group a run for the Touring Car Title. Rich was able to hold him off with his Alfa. All was going good for Mark until the 7th race when he had transmission problems with his Subaru. He had to pull the car into the pits for repair. At the start of the 8th race Mark’s Subaru went one lap and the drive train failed so he did not finish. All the races were very close. I am sure the Spyder Racing team will get there car up and running for the next race.
