If we were to go for a fairly wide slice of time, say from 1966 to 1972, that would give us a wide variety of cars to chose from, including cars many of us already have, including the Slot.it Ford Gt40 and Chaparral, Policar Ferrari 330P3, NSR Porsche 908.
      Among other entrants are:
      Porsche 911
      Ferrari 312PB
      Alfa Romeo 33/3
      Porsche 907

For the rally track in 2025, would there be any interest in reviving Targa Florio? I did not participate last time, so I don’t know what cars ran, or were eligible. I might be a nice change of pace from The Monte, and some people should already have cars.

The more I think of it, the more I think a Revo spec series would be good. Should make for close racing.

I have mentioned this to Randy, but might as well open it up to wider discussion.  1:32 B Sedan / Trans Am U2 on the main track
This could use the Revoslot GRP 2 cars we ran on the rally track previously.  Many of us have these cars already, and I’m sure many are eager to try out the Revo 510s in competition.  It could be a mostly spec series, or we could open it up to allow for more possibilities.

            What do Y’all think?

The draft rules on the splash page are just a placeholder. At least I hope so.

Brian, I think the SRC rally cars would fill the Monte slot well. Win, win.

From John B via the email list.

First off, apologies for not putting this on the forum. Anyone who wants to post it are welcome to do so. This email is to lobby for the NSR Formula 22 cars for a 2024 series. I’ve been building an NSR AM F1 car. Haven’t tested it yet as I’m waiting for a white chassis. Tires are trued and did break in the motor and gears. Here are the pros and cons:

                      Pros:
10 variations in red, white, blue, yellow, a white kit, three Astons and two pre-order McLarens. Would expect more in ‘24.
Atalaya is making decals for Alpine for the NSR. Most of the Atalaya decals for the Policar F1 car will work.
Several chassis of varying rigidity are available from NSR
There a variety of NSR Pinion and Crown gears. While the NSR pinions are unique and have to be used, I would allow Slot.it crowns as well, as was done with Formula 86/89.
Two rear wheel widths and tires are available. Would allow both with a width template for inspection.
Stock 21K long can motor would be mandatory.
                      Axle stoppers allowed.
12 volts unless testing dictates otherwise.

                      Cons:
Car has not be tested on track yet.
Pinion gear “sleeve” requires that the NSR pinion for Formula 22 be used.

Summary: Expect the Formula 22 line to be easy to build and very fast.
Below are attached photos of the car. Notice the long shank pinions,
                      Thanks,
                      Lotus Jr.

A long shot, I know, but thought I would throw out there,

George Turner Edwardian racers series. They all run on the same chassis (included in the kit, nd there is an improved printed chassis as well.

Randy, Sounds complicated, logistically. But if you are willing to organize and run it.

Cars need not be identical, but would be bound to a certain lane with drivers rotating through each lane/car in the usual round robin fashion. I have 2 Mercs, and 2 Skylines, would be nice to get an Alfa volunteered for the day, or an Opel.

Run-What-Ya-Brung hillclimb. Anything that has not competed on the rally track before, the weirder the better. 30 laps on the Rally track, as it is a hillclimb.

Mel, rules for running gear are very open, so go for it. Consider it a voyage of discovery 🙂
