      Lets say I am setting up a car and the motor RPM is 21,4k and the gearing is 9×23.  If I did the math correctly, the wheel RPM should be 8,374.  Lets say I have this set up and I am only getting 7,960 RPM at the wheel.  I have checked to see if there is any binding of the axle in the bushings as well as gear mesh and it all looks good.  Why would I see such a difference from the calculated RPM and the actual RPM? 

      I have used this formula before and it has always been close but this one is way off the projection.  Thoughts oh great gear set up master?

      When the motor is warm, it revs higher. Do you think you checked motor RPM while the motor was warm and wheel RPM with a cold motor? 

      If no, I would test motor RPM again and check to see if it dropped from the original 21.4K.

      If no, you probably have a motor with very little torque.
