Watching the Senna movie brought back a lot of really good memories, unfortunately we all know the ending.
It is funny how feelings come back to you. I have avoided watching the footage of his accident for the longest time — more than 10 years. Today, after seeing it, I felt the same way I did when it happened: disbelief, followed by my mind trying to undo what I just saw, followed by sadness. The process keeps repeating, it feels like I’m on a dream — but right now I’m exhausted and I cannot sleep.
Brazilians followed him passionately, we all thought he was a member of our own family. Huge, huge, huge loss.Anyway…
Got home and inspected the Lancia. The chassis was broken again, this time the glue cracked and the chassis was flexing. Got it fixed, changed the gear ratio, cleaned everything up — ready to go again.
Good news: all the cars for the El Piloto series are ready. I will post a “build” log ASAP.
