ASCC Monthly Meeting – Jan 11

      PRESIDENT’S REPORT
We have moved in, started racing and completed critical work on the warehouse.
      TREASURER’S REPORT
      — Many people have donated parts and supplies to the warehouse and dropped our costs for move-in.
      — Russell and a few others will be reimbursed for the more significant costs for parts and supplies.
      — We need race fees to stay solvent.
      — We may try to sell parts via a TBD website.
      — We may also try for sponsorship for businesses on our wall.

      SECRETARY’S REPORT
      — 13 paid members

      RUSS – WAREHOUSE PROGRESS
      Additional refinements will continue:
      — Pit Station tops made of plywood will replace the existing MDF covers on the Rally track.
      — Painting of the backstop of the pits.
      — Finishing the “Timing Tower” facade (over the bath room and equipment closet).
      — Computer desk near the door.
      — More paint work on inside doors, jambs
      — We will experiment with ways to cut down the heat from the garage door.

      WEBSITE UPDATES
      — We need a Rally track page with its specs and construction history.
      — We are also updating the membership information with new rates, the calendar is updated and linked to the website menu, and the Revo-Slot and Group C series are updated off the Race-Rules menu.
      — People can login with their Facebook or Google credentials – no need to register with us like they used to.
      — Postings have Like and More buttons/links.
      — Tableau is being used to analyze race result trends.

      SERIES DECISIONS
      — Remaining 2020 series will be discussed at the Feb 8 meeting. RevoSlot will follow.
      — Officer Elections will be held on Feb 8.

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer.
