      PRESIDENTS OPENING
Shawn opened with a welcome and a request for any topics.
      CAPITOL SLOT CARS
Shawn confirmed that ASCC members are encouraged to race at Capitol, but that as a club we do not have the resources to build the track we were considering.
      THUNDERSLOT
A decision was made that the new McLaren Thunderslots were released too late (we only have 1.5 months to buy and prep) – they are Not allowed in the series.
      LANDSCAPE ON MAIN TRACK
We need Marty to provide an ETA on when this work will start.
      BRAID RENEWAL IN GREEN LANE
Russ doing the planning with Ary and Steve. Tentative plans are for a TBD *week in March to be the target.
      PIT LIGHTS
Right side fluorescent has ‘bought the farm’ – Mark will replace with Red gooseneck lamp donated by Rudy; plus some overhead LED shop lights. /see forum comment on track room/

      Some other notes:
Ary brought up forming an American team to race at a Scaleauto World Championship near Barcelona in July. Russell showed how he planned to repair the south corner of the track in the near future.

COTA-Bob, thanks for your interest in our club and reaching out to us (altho in an unusual spot (Meeting Minutes?) in our forum – LOL! We are a non-profit club and therefore are not really allowed to have a vendor tent at COTA; which are very expensive BTW 🙁

DOCUMENTARY-To shoot videos of our track and club you may meet us on Thurs Feb 28 at Kings Hobby Shop (8810 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78753) between 6pm to 9pm (no cost to visit). Naturally you can get a good idea of our track and club via other parts of this website, and our Facebook site. Our track at Kings will be open for test-n-tune on Sat March 2 (11a-6p)  since many of the club members will also be at COTA for the Pirelli-Blancpain GT race; however a few members can meet you at Kings if you can commit to a time.

RACING-As explained on our site et al. we primarily race 1/32 and 1/24 scale cars; our track is not set up or banked for door-stops/wings, and we are dry (no glue), and prohibit silicone tires. So, if your cars fit these constraints you are welcome to run them (or borrow some of the shops rent cars; or a member’s spare).  Mark Lucas (2019 secretary)

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer.
