Does anyone have a set of PA18-ALS hubs that I can get until my order comes in?(This week). I’m trying to finish a car to try it out on Thursday and the front plastic hubs just don’t get it. There’s no way to secure the hub to the axle of the tire truer and while it will true OK, when you try to do the lighter fluid trick and round the edges, it just spins. Is there a trick to surviving with plastic hubs short of drilling and tapping them for a setscrew?

        Bob,

I threaded the tire truer axle in order to keep the plastic hubs in place; instead of sliding the plastic hubs you twist them into the axle.

The only problem with this is that you will need to buy the extra axle for the truer, metal hubs will not fit in the threaded axle.

          ******WARNING Ghetto answer below***************

I put a peice of plastic around the end of the tire true shaft then put the press on wheels on. It seemed to hold

Sometimes simple is better. A double thickness of the cellophane that pars comes in slipped over the end of the axle works great.
