Everyone,
I was wondering what events we are planning for our October 23rd grand opening.
What would we like to promote on event flyers and in the press releases?
Track unveiling
Races
Kids Race
Drinks
Food
T-Shirt unveiling
raffles for cars, t-shirts, gift certificates, track timeThoughts? What will we do as a draw to bring people in?

I guess we could do almost everything you suggested. The unveiling should be done in the afternoon (2pm?), after that we can have a small track presentation, talk about the club and later we would open the track for kids. I would prefer to have a “line” for the kids, every 3 would race for 5 min and go to the end of the line; we will have to be there babysitting them and the track till close time, that is why I would only open the track for kids after we have all the business end done. Food and drinks are tricky, I would not want to see any on the track, we need to think about something suitable. The shirt should be done by that date — we need to get that resolved really soon. A nice raffle would be car+controller+shirt+rental for first prize, shirt + rental time for 2nd and rental for 3rd (all inclusive rental).

Hi guys
The Grand Opening ideas sound good to me. I like Ary’s suggestion of having a line for the kids running 5 min at a time.
I now have a cast on my leg and I am getting around better; hopefully I won’t be out of action too much longer.
I have made DVDs of my Monterey photos–850 photos on a disc. The cars are in folders by race group and some of the groups have PDFs of the race results so you can see what the cars were. There is also an earlier entry list with all the race groups on it. I have made 5 copies and Chris and I may have a chance to run them up to King’s tomorrow so the next time you’re there you can pick one up. Enjoy!Russell
