Some nice stuff coming from Slot.it this year, but the final sentence in their note on SCI gives me pause:

“It is worth noting that starting in 2012, all GT cars will come with AW as standard, with FLAT6 open can motor. This is a major change which we believe further raises the performance of our box stock cars.”

We’re gonna have to figure out how to make these this setup work on our track.

      Interesting …

I have been trying to figure that out myself, I think weight would definitely help.

Since we know that our Group-C cars perform well, I wil use it as basis:

      • car weight: 70 grams
      • orange enbell torque: 170 grams
      — 70 grams is 41.17% of 170 grams on the motor
Now, the Flat-6R has 220 grams of torque. I’m thinking that if we match the weight of the car to ~40% of Flat-6R torque (220 grams), the car should perform: car should weight ~90 grams in order to use the Flat-6R.

I will try that setup in one of my McLarens and report back.

Hmm… that makes sense… match the power to weight ratios.  I’ll look forward to the results.

      Ary,

The torque numbers are off.  They’re using the standard Flat6 and not the Flat6-R.  The torque on the standard Flat6 is 200g with a 20.5k RPM.  I’m interested in seeing how those stack up on our track.  The difference in torque is only 30 grams at that point.

Also keep in mind this is only for the GT cars.  The Grp. C cars will stay the same.
