ASCC Club Meeting Summary – July 2017

      MEMBERSHIP

We have had a few new faces come to Thursday practice; we gave them membership applications and hope they will come out some Saturday.

      WIFI

Ary announced that the club has its own WIFI so we don’t have to rely on Kings for personal connections.  We also have a new high-speed ISP with a cheaper subscription than the club’s previous ISP.  The network will appear on your phone or device as ASCC.  Ask another member for the password.

      RALLY MISC

Our rally timing system is visible on phone/laptop via a browser.  Connect to //rally-pc/8080.  An application is available; contact Ary for details.

We will  be installing a permanent digitial voltmeter on the track.

A new racing format will be tried:  Lowest time covered in 40 loops, which may average around four minutes.

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer. Struggling guitar hobbyist and Amp "tweeker"
