2013 Slot.it Porsche 911 GT1 Series – Race #2 Results

The second round of the Slot.it Porsche 911 GT1 Series was raced under a festive atmosphere; we were also celebrating Ary’s birthday that day.   After a few canapés and cold beer, racers took to the track: Russell unveiled his custom livery, a homage to James Dean’s “Little Bastard”; Brian, on his first race in this series, debuted his Blue Coral stallion; Ary and Steve brought back the Valvoline and Blaukpunkt cars, respectively, seen on round one; Brett, also on his first series’ race, joined the Jever team, alongside Roy.

Although lap-times and lap-counts were not as high as they were on first round of the series, probably because our racers were a bit more relaxed than usual, this round’s racing was very competitive; there were plenty of battles in all six heats of race (click here to watch). In the end, birthday-boy took first, completing 218.46 laps; Steve was just behind with 217.81. Roy took third with 215.19 laps, followed by Russell with 208.45. Brian had lead wire issues during the race and completed 199.89 laps. Brett’s car was a handful, he finished with 189.45 laps.

  1. Great story and pics.  I am sorry to have missed this one.  The food and the racing both looked good.  Those races didn’t look that slow.  I drank two beers before watching the video so the conditions would be similar to me actually being there.  Good run by everyone.  I just hope everyone is not getting any faster before the next round.
