Guys, I will put up a poll after our meeting in which we can vote for next year’s series. It will use a ranking system that should drive out any ties or ambiguity.

        For discussion:
        1) Coordinate a proxy race.
        2) Participate in a proxy race.

          Steve,
I’m going to need a ruling on liveries regarding numbering. The presentation liveries only show two numbers.  The rules say three must be visible.  I can stick another number on the car, but it defeats the fidelity of the original livery.

          what say you?  🙂

Our first vacation in three years got in the way.  (CO was amazing, by the way!)

Fortunately, I have a bunch of tires already glued/trued from Nationals.  So a bit of motor break-in and balancing and I’ll be at a good starting point.

Yeah… the Viper, while super sexy, is an angle winder.  No one has managed to get one of those to perform well on our track.  I’m probably going to pass on an attempt to be the “one”.

This will join my Le Man’s Miniatures Dauer Porsche as as shelf queen.  (For now).

And… I bought a separate white kit body for the BMW to Hydrodip.  🙂  Maximize ROI.

I spent a pleasant part of today unboxing all of my slot cars.  I haven’t seen these guys for almost 8 years!  Among four boxes, including an almost full book-box of historic F1’s and a half-dozen classic Slot.it Group 1 and Le Mans GT 40s (NIB, no less!) I found nine rally cars that ran in the decade selected for the series.  Five of which are even in the correct livery!  The funny thing is; I find myself “jonesing” for either a BMW 1800 or Volvo P1800 to actually run!  This really is a sickness.

                          Well, Marty…

I guess there is personal honor, and the proxy format could be adjusted. Say; clubs swap cars and don’t run their own?

Barring the club v club format, there is the individual format, but that challenges our strategy to broadcast reliably.

                            Hi Folks,
I agree with Marty’s earlier post regarding the first half of the year being focused on well known cars such as Slot.it Group C or Racer Group 5. Much more proxy-friendly. I would add that a tightly limited modification spec series may also proxy well.

Open wheel sounds like a lot of fun, but best scheduled in the second half of the year when the odds are bit more in favor of reconvening in person.

The rally track seems to be underutilized, so it makes a lot of sense to have at least one of those races on the calendar.

And finally, I have not seen this mentioned yet, but do we want to schedule another cross-club proxy race?  I think this is something worth pursuing in 2021, even it is just an annual event.  Perhaps branching out to include additional clubs.  (I favor the clubs vs clubs format over individual entries because it emphasizes local groups and intra/interstate competition.)

                            That’s my two pence.

It is arguably a slot track of one sort… The sort with one big honking slot capable of handling two cars!  😉

                                Hi Folks,
I have updated the menu and home page to hide the Coming Events menu and the Calendar for now.  I have also updated our “About Us” content to remove the map and King’s address.

On our Facebook page I have taken similar actions to remove the address and hide the map for now.

Finally, I will be updating the tag line on our logo to read “Racing small cars in a hot box.” 😉
