Well, Marty…
I guess there is personal honor, and the proxy format could be adjusted. Say; clubs swap cars and don’t run their own?
Barring the club v club format, there is the individual format, but that challenges our strategy to broadcast reliably.

(Leroy Grumman)Hi Folks,
I agree with Marty’s earlier post regarding the first half of the year being focused on well known cars such as Slot.it Group C or Racer Group 5. Much more proxy-friendly. I would add that a tightly limited modification spec series may also proxy well.Open wheel sounds like a lot of fun, but best scheduled in the second half of the year when the odds are bit more in favor of reconvening in person.
The rally track seems to be underutilized, so it makes a lot of sense to have at least one of those races on the calendar.
And finally, I have not seen this mentioned yet, but do we want to schedule another cross-club proxy race? I think this is something worth pursuing in 2021, even it is just an annual event. Perhaps branching out to include additional clubs. (I favor the clubs vs clubs format over individual entries because it emphasizes local groups and intra/interstate competition.)
That’s my two pence.

(Leroy Grumman)It is arguably a slot track of one sort… The sort with one big honking slot capable of handling two cars! 😉

(Leroy Grumman)Hi Folks,
I have updated the menu and home page to hide the Coming Events menu and the Calendar for now. I have also updated our “About Us” content to remove the map and King’s address. On our Facebook page I have taken similar actions to remove the address and hide the map for now.
Finally, I will be updating the tag line on our logo to read “Racing small cars in a hot box.” 😉
(Just kidding on that last part… weak attempt at injecting a little humor in a tough time.).

(Leroy Grumman)There are specific reasons for the scaffolding and burning furniture rules.. documented in the attached photos from my 2014 trip there. (Turn 7, one of my favorite places to watch.)

(Leroy Grumman)That’s awesome! And quite a bit better than Fox Sports 1’s coverage of Le Mans this year!

(Leroy Grumman)Hmmm… not sure what to say then… I’ve been a Mac user for almost 15 years and I have never used Grab directly. (The tiff-only thing put me off) However, the Grab menu is incorporated into Preview, which I use frequently, and for almost all of the screen shots I upload to the site. (Preview gives me the option to do some light editing and convert into several formats.)
So, aside from starting in TIFF format, I use the same utility function (if not the app) and don’t have this issue. I can only guess that there is some lossy compression happening at some point in your workflow.

(Leroy Grumman)Hi Mark,
What snipping tool are you using? When I use the built-in screen grabbing tools on my mac (i.e. shift-cmd-4 to capture a rectangular selection) it outputs a png file. If you are using a third-party tool that only exports TIFF, frankly, I would get another tool.If you are using the Preview application to convert (the command is actually Export), then make sure you are setting the quality correctly. You can safely set the jpg quality to 90+ percent. The upload feature on the web site does some optimization to the size and compression of the images to make sure they don’t adversely impact the performance of the site.

(Leroy Grumman)Mark, it really is more than likely is compound and if not temperature, then track conditions. (Car balance may play a role as well) We have seen this sort of behavior from the tires and the cars before. And it always happens when the season changes. It all comes down to choosing the right compound and getting your setup (and driving style) right for that setup.

(Leroy Grumman)This sounds more like track temperature vs tire compound to me… (With maybe a bit of gearing selection and weight balance thrown in for good measure)
