The Viper has landed in the UK at Graham Edward’s track and had its shakedown run. Looks like it might be competitive.
Video here and numbers here.

(Leroy Grumman)April 7, 2025 at 9:28 PM in reply to: 2025 Thunderslot Lola T70/McLaren M6A/McLaren Elva/Ferrari 350 – Road Track #20293I’m torn on this one. My science-guy mind says, wow! Fun experiment! But then the practical side of me says 1) many of our deslots were, arguably, caused by the strong downforce, and 2) it can be controlled by tire diameter.
We could check for minimum ride height at the beginning and end of the race with penalties assessed for violations after the race, but that increases the burden on the race manager.
Like Russel said, a bit of a hole to go down.
I am interested to see what Kim’s Ferrari measures at…

(Leroy Grumman)Riffing off of Steve’s work (to which I get an “Access Denied” message, but I’m sure that’s just due to my dysfunctional relationship with Google). I merged and deduplicated the cars and then created a table indicating which year(s) they ran. Image of that table below and attached the Excel workbook for those that want to sort and filter.

(Leroy Grumman)The only gears that RevoSlot provides for the Toyota are the ones it ships with, plus a solid ergal crown that is the same pitch and diameter. (And color, red)
I ordered all the combos only to realize that this is spelled out quite clearly on the spec sheet in the box. 🙁

(Leroy Grumman)Marc, those are just the body post to body plate screws being called out. Not the screws holding the motor pod or body plate to chassis plate.

(Leroy Grumman)I am truing tires today and plan to go down to the club to test voltages for the Toyota with stock gearing and body float tomorrow or Friday. I have a provisional 12.5v in the rules right now, but that may change depending on my testing.
In my opinion, the Toyotas should run quicker than the SCCA Sedans, they were, after all, in the top classes (GT1 followed by LMGTP prototypes) at Le Mans. The end-goal I’m after is to have two different styles of racing, appropriate to the cars on the track.

(Leroy Grumman)Take note that I updated the rules this morning to include available gearing and body post bumpers.

(Leroy Grumman)December 10, 2024 at 11:50 AM in reply to: 2025 Revoslot Toyota GT-One Spec race – Road Track #19938I intend to run a white kit but will also be running the “Purple” livery (Some might say “Pink”) to test tires and such and will run it in the event something goes sideways with my white kit body prep. If anyone else wants to run this color let us know.

(Leroy Grumman)Randy, I like that idea for this series. I have counted 11 different colors plus a white kit. (Each white on red color comes in three liveries, but difficult to distinguish on the track)

(Leroy Grumman)NSR 997 Spec Race
Brining the topic back to the surface regarding flipping a coin to determine which track to run on for each race in the series.
Marc and I have exchanged thoughts on this and think that if we stuck to a simple podium / points standard the scoring is simplified and standardized between tracks. This does leave the possibility of ties, but I think coming up with at tie breaker rubric would not be that challenging. For example: make the differentiator the total number of laps on the road track divided by the total time in seconds on the rally track, largest number wins the place.
Thoughts?

(Leroy Grumman)Note: I edited the original list to add ‘Sidewinder’ to the NSR 997 entries. If anyone objects please speak up.
Also note that there are still angle-winder cars on the candidate list. The Toyota GT One, and the Revslot Group 2’s.
