They are heavy .. it also depends on how much stuff you put inside them.

        I vote for:

        • The original car list
        • Orange Endbell FC-130 Slot.IT Motors only
        • Inline Setup Only
        • Any gears (They are basically all the same and SCX are cheaper)
        • Yellow Dog or Slot.it tires

There is also this guy: https://www.whiteysslotcarboxes.com/services.html, his boxes seem to be very nice, but I’m not confortable with the price 😕 .

Quality wise I can’t judge since I have not seen any of the boxes close enough. The reason I like the NTC boxes is because you can carry 12 cars, you have drawers in the hole center section and the tilt-up lid; that’s the attention to detail I was referring to and those are the things I’m looking for on a box. Now I don’t know if we would piss-off JC by asking him to make a NTC box ❓
I will send a message to NTC asking if we could also get a discount when buying 4 boxes … let’s see what happens.

I don’t like the design of the JC boxes. The box on ebay for $86 is too small and does not hold enough cars, the second option is basically the same box on ebay with an added shelf in the bottom.
I like the boxes by NTC, the attention to detail seems to be higher. If you don’t consider a possible discount by JC, the racer box is $10 higher than the biggest box NTC makes – The Full Monte – Autumn Hills Edition. Knowing what I normally carry around, the extra drawers and the toll box lid will fit my needs a lot better.

I still want to talk to my wood guy this week and see how much he would charge to build me one. I will let you guys know.

I have seen those before and decided against it.

I agree that motors should be only one type (same RPM). I would allow yellow dogs for tires, but Kings would need to to carry them in stock. On the car model I think you should select a date range as previously posted. I’m not in favor of running a 70’s, 80’s cars against the current stuff.

I still need to come up with the dimensions. Let me know the best size for the drawers, I guess you want to have the plato boxes inside them .. right?
Another thing, the dimensions I have for the car shelves are 6.7/8″ X 3.3/4″, let me know if they work with your 1/24 cars.

Here are the boxes I will be using as a model:

I am leaning towards the blue box size. I think that the blue box will already be heavy when full … the green one full will probably have 20 pounds more ??

I have also found plans for a simpler box here: https://www.slotside.com/tt/box1.html

Independent of which track I’m going to: small screwdrivers, pliers, micro files, sand paper, x-acto knifes, tweezers, pinion puller, pinion press, caliper, micro scale, iron brush, cotton swabs, lighter fluid. Spare everything; tires, gears, pinions, motors, pickup guides, axles, braid …..

Depending on the track I’m going: soldering iron, variable power supply, tire truer, comm lathe.

I normally have all the tools I use for slot separate from my other tools and I keep the slot ones on the pit box.

Thanks for taking that tape down.

This was my first time to run 1/32 on a routed track and it was very enjoyable. I will be back.

No, I just have a case that I keep all the tires in specific compartments with a piece of paper that tells me what tires are which. Low tech but it works. 😉

                              Shawn,

Do you know which type of tires comes in the bottom of each slot.it?
I have them all separated but I don’t know what they are.
