Ary,
I have a couple I can bring for you to try out. Its not my cup of tea but they are interesting to watch.

porsche917ModeratorThe Slot It challenge is not open to all cars due to performance and looks.
The Slot It cars listed are evenly matched in weight and performance while all being from a similar period in time. The idea is to have a race series that was as evenly matched as possible in performance and looks.

The Slot-It challenge sounds good. Is there a reason why other Slot-It cars are not listed? (Chaparral 2E???)

I went by King’s this afternoon with some cars. The track drives great! It is challenging and fun. I can see it will be a test to see which cars can go through “The Kink” on the lower level past the underpass without lifting. I was reluctant to try too hard with no outside border.
I think that the area between the tracks to the left of the driver’s station should be left flat (lower level) and we could decide later about a pit lane, podium, grandstand, or whatever. We could get the rest of the track finished first. The rest of the track can all be basic, but I would eventually like to see something in that area that looks like a real track.
Ary, the video of the track is terrific.
Catch up with you later,
Russellporsche917ModeratorAry,
I saw this post on Slot Car Illustrated and thought of you.

SICA12R2 Audi R8C – Reloaded RAW?
——————————————————————————–
Just got one of these and I have to say the speed it carries down the straights is simply awesome. It’s incredibly fast!
Just wondering though, did anyone else who bought one of these wonders find the included S2’s underneath where the wrong size?
They are absolutly huge and will in no way fit the rear wheels that came with the car which I beleive are 20×12.
Not a deal breaker as I have lots of the proper size S2’s on hand but I am just curious as to whether this was an oversight or these tires were included on purpose.
porsche917ModeratorOK tell the truth. Who has driven on the track, how much time have you spent on it and what do you think?
I think I have been on it for about one hour total and have loved almost every moment. The moment where my car flew off and broke the wing was not a good one.
I also realized that we need to widen the track by about one inch on the back of the track on the north end just as you exit the tunnel. Happy we found this out before we started the landscaping and put up the boarder boards.

porsche917ModeratorAry,
You can true a tire without gluing it to the rim. Most Slot It aluminum wheels are very true to begin with and the tires are tight enough on the rims that they will not spin when trued.
All Porsche 962’s and 956’s are allowed. I was using the descriptions lised on Slot It’s site.
Marty
porsche917ModeratorAry,
Did you get the feel for the track? Anything you think we need to change?
Marty
porsche917ModeratorShawn,
How do you know what Slot It tires are what? They don’t seem to be marked anywhere. Other than the header on the poly bag how do I know what is what?
Marty
porsche917ModeratorThat is one of the coolest things I have ever seen! The video does a great job of showing off all the various cambers and elevation changes. What a great track.
How much practice time did you put in today?

July 28, 2010 at 10:13 PM in reply to: Which 1/32 classes would you like to race on a championship? #2010porsche917ModeratorI would like to see a Group C class using Slot It cars as outlined in the Slot It Challenge rules. This would give everyone an opportunity to race similar cars with minimal expense.
