Toyota Man,
First off, there are no dumb questions. You are correcton the huge difference in prices on some of the Slot It cars. Some of the older cars are now collectors items and are listed on Ebay and other retailers for huge sums of money while some of the more recent releases are below the suggested retail price. The best bet is to look for one of these newer ones like the Porsche 962KH in the Jagermeister colors. You can also get a new Porsche 956KH in the Gulf livery. Both cars can be found for $50. You could also get a Toyota 88c if something like that sounded good to you.
All of them are mechanically the same with a different chassis for the different body styles. This makes it easier to swap parts between cars if needed.

Nothing like a good re-spray project and some Patto’s decals!
I am getting ready to break down my three lane routed track and pitch it if there are no takers. If you are interested please let me know by September 15th. Don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me or call me if you have any questions.

Rush – Red Barchetta. Heck, any Rush song would be great.
Ray Charles – Hit the Road Jack
Russell has some great songs to add to the list.
Lets say I am setting up a car and the motor RPM is 21,4k and the gearing is 9×23. If I did the math correctly, the wheel RPM should be 8,374. Lets say I have this set up and I am only getting 7,960 RPM at the wheel. I have checked to see if there is any binding of the axle in the bushings as well as gear mesh and it all looks good. Why would I see such a difference from the calculated RPM and the actual RPM?
I have used this formula before and it has always been close but this one is way off the projection. Thoughts oh great gear set up master?
Good to have you join the forum.
The club has looked into this and run the numbers on it. The only way it would work is if you could find a place where the rent was really low and you would have to augment your income with sales of cars, parts and accessories both in-store and on-line.
As far as tracks are concerned, everyone will have their own opinion but I can say from our experience and looking at what tracks around the States and the world have been successful I would look to have:
Construction: routed wood with magnetic braid
Lanes: between five and eight
Length: between 100 and 200 feet
Layout: as equal of lane length as possible, elevation changes, at least 4″ lane spacing, landscaping optional but it does add a lot to the look of the track.
It would be great if you could come by the track when we are all there and let’s see if we could work together to help you make this happen.
Smashing Baby! Absolutely smashing!

I love that X-Ray shot. What Canon lense shoots x-ray pics?
Since my entire year revolves around LeMans I agree with Brian’s suggestion to not hold any races on that day. I am in favor of watch parties!
For those that watched or know of Jody Sheckter, one of the most famous cars he drove was the Tyrell P34 – the six wheeled Tyrell. After the P34 was retired in 1978 the governing body, the FIA, ruled out anything other than cars with four wheels. Get it – he was going to do a six pack but because of the rules change decided to do a four instead.

I am all in. Please let me know who to write the check to?
Are we keeping the track in the air conditioned part of Kings and moving the models to the back?
Those look great! This is the car we are looking for to hold a proper F1 races series. I hope they are actually going into production. Did you hear anything about a cost?

March 30, 2012 at 6:44 PM in reply to: Proxys: Slot.it Shootout Summer Series & Race Across America #1635That looks great. Either you did a fantastic job on the body or your photoshop skills are off the charts.
Did you see that livery somewhere or did you just make it up?
Have you run it yet?
Warren,
Thanks for the inquiry into my track. Unfortunately it is already spoken for by one of the club members. The dimensions were 16’ long by 9’ wide. My goal in the three lane design was to get as much lane length into a small footprint while making it not so difficult to drive that my son and his friends couldn’t enjoy it. I also was trying to limit the number of corner marshals it would take to work the track so if three were running the other three could marshal the track.
How much space do you have for your routed track?
Marty
L’auto sembra fantastica! Mi auguro che sembra buono alla fine della serie. Scosso non mescolato.
Ciao
