I’ve just finished truing a set of N22 tires. By what I saw, I would say there is quite a bit of urethane in the mix.

I had to get the tires overseas, I wanted to test those for the proxy series — I woun’t be using them (if they perform) on our series till they are available in the U.S..

        David, welcome to our forum.

        I have a few questions:

        • Are you renting the warehouse?
        • How many members are already in the club, and how strong are slot cars in your area?
        • Do your local hobby shops know about your club? Do the shops have a track available for rental?

The reason I ask about the warehouse is the cost involved. Our track is hosted by a local hobby shop (free), and we could not have had it any other way.

I believe the best way to recruit new members is by making a flyer and have it available at your local hobby shops. A website will help promote your club immensely — you found us (it seems to be working). We have tried (once) to go to a modelers show with a portable track, unfortunately, the parents would drop the kids at our table and go do something else, we ended-up working non-stop and not a single new members came out of it.

          Marty,

I was checkig what the brazilian clubs were running when I found those images. It seems that the 1/28 scale based on Mini-Z Rc cars is popular in Brazil, Portugal, France and Holland.

          – https://vortexsolucesdemarketing.blogspot.com/ (Portugal)

          – https://guslotracing.blogspot.com/ (Brazil)

          – https://sixpack24.blogspot.com/ (Holland) It seems Nick de Wachter raced/races with those guys.

I contacted TRP the same day I originally posted this … so far no reply. This is their website: https://www.technicalrp.com/catalog/.

I was able to find one store that sells RTR cars in Germany: https://www.slotcarservice.de/store/shop.php?mode=show_group&lang=de&group=78

Just got a package with replacement wheels, tires and a new set of headlight covers from https://www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/. Thank you Sean!

Will work on it tonight and have it ready for the upcoming race on March 10th.

This may help persuade some of our club members:

We will make 2 stops: São Paulo & Rio.

Yeap! I did the math Yesterday and there’s no way we could run all drivers and all cars.

We would probably need to run each car in one lane only with all drivers rotating. Lets say he have nine cars:

                    • Race #1 of round #1 would have car A on yellow, car B on blue and car C on green.
                    • Race #2 of round #1 would have car D, car E and car F.
                    • Race #3 of round #1 would have cars G, H and I.
Since there are 6 rounds, we can rotate the cas one lane over after every round; this would ensure that all cars were raced in all lanes, twice.
If we do have 9 cars participating, each heat should be around 90 seconds long; each full race would take 13.5 minutes, a full round would have 40.5 minutes of racing time (longer with rotation, etc).

Kinda of a mix between El Piloto & Proxy racing. Call me crazy but I think that something like the proposed bellow would be fun:

                      Cars

                      • Each participant would build their car and have it ready by round #1.
                      • Cars would remain untouched throughout the series.

                      Racing

                      • Modified El Piloto style.
                      • Each driver of a round would race all the cars, once, in all lanes. (heat times would be significantly less than 5min)

                      Scoring

                      • A participants total will be based on his racing & car scores.
                      • Driver scoring per heat will be the same used in our other series (10,8,7,6,5 …, +1 for fastest).
                      • Builder points (car points) will be based on consistency or most laps (to be researched).

                      Repairs

                      • If a car needs repairs, the race will be stopped in order to get the car in running order. One point of the car builder total will be deducted.

                      Thoughts?

I’m glad to hear it, Marty. Wish all the other manufacturers were like Racer.

We need to update that to a 3.665 by Kevin “The Hammer”.

                              Yes,

I will add a plce to write the lap times.

I think we should change the award from fatest lap to fastest driver, this way we can award multiple drivers.

20X11 first … I’m planing on using a 0.5 offset sidewinder with toyota wheels. Just got the parts on the mail, will try to work on the car tonight at the track.

I’m gonna try to stick with P6 tires, if that doesn’t work out I will send the car with F30s — but I will also send a second set, pretty sure one set of F30s wont last all the rounds.
