      Hi Kim,
The wood guide part number was a typo.  GU002 is the correct number.  I have fixed it.  Thanks for the catch.  🙂

What kind of pulley system did you use to raise it to the ceiling? I’m new to slots and want to build a 5×10 track, but need to store it out of the way in the garage when not in use.

        Thanks,

        David

            Hi Mark,
First, I moved your post to the appropriate form. Stuff like this should not be a featured post on the home page.

Second, nothing on the forum posting process has changed. (Regular posts and page creation has seen significant changes with version 5 of WordPress. Learn more here. But nothing has changed with the forums)

A note on square brackets.  “[” and “]” when placed around a word are interpreted as a BBCode or a ShortCode.  They are used for formatting, inserting links, etc… and can also behave like a formatting macro, depending on how they are defined. I have considered disabling that functionality, and given that just about everyone uses a rich editor these days I probably will in the near future.  I need to check on how much they have been used in existing posts first.

There have been three ways to insert an image into a post.  The process roughly mirrors that which you may encounter on a PHPBB board such as Slotcar Illustrated, or many other online forums.  Where it differs, and is more rich, is with the capabilities the Add Media button and the Attachment feature presents.

Regarding images: I’m not going to go into a detailed instruction here, but you have several options for working with images.

Attach Image: When you attach an image you have the option of inserting inline with your text.  You have several options after doing that, such as what type of wrapping you want, and the ability to drag-and-drop your image within your text.  (You don’t have to upload again, just click and drag the image to the location you desire within your text.)

Add Media button: If you use the Add Media feature you have similar options.  The only primary difference is the experience you are presented to upload an image.  (The Attachment experience that is part of our extended forum functions is a bit simpler than the Insert Media experience, which offers more options, but is also more complex in the options it offers.)

Insert/Edit Image button: This is the one on the toolbar with the mountain icon. This has been the least friendly way of inserting an image into posts since forums were invented. (It was also the only way to do this for years.) The history behind its bare bone functionality is rooted in the fact that disk storage was so expensive.  During the early days of forums organizations couldn’t afford to host everyone’s images so they forced their users to link to them wherever they were hosted. It has been activated here because many folks who have used forums in the past will recognize it. Going forward, I have added a new plugin that will allow you upload an image from your local machine when you chose the image icon in the forum text editing toolbar. This should simplify things for everyone.

            New upload image functionality

This sounds cool, if we run Slot It DTM I know what car and livery I would like to run! I also would like to run Ferrari vs Ford, I have my black Slot It GT40 this was the third slot car I bought years ago. I think the NSR 917 did very well would like to try a GT2. I do not know if I can make the meeting on 1/11 so the is a few to list.

This is the space we have available for the Clubs big track. It would allow marshaling from almost the whole way around the track. It has eight 4ft pit spaces close by. We have a removable wall section that the track could slide through and equipment that can lift it.

We have no desire to interfere with the club business, but would like to see a larger flat track built soon, either by the club or by us. We would also like to carry parts that are used frequently and a few cars for new members.

We invite any of the members to come out and check out the space available.

Can someone give me the measurements for the two tracks so I can see how they might fit into our available space? That way we will know if this is even an option for you guys. I am guessing the large one to be approx. 5 x 24.

We are willing to work with you guys anyway we can. If you need a temporary home for the track while you look elsewhere or something more permanent, let us know.

For the power on the drag we have a 90 amp bulldog on each lane with a capacitor, the trap we will have to figure out what works best.
The oval and kingleman will have one supply for four lanes.
We would like to get some races going asap but we will have to see how much interest we have from racers.
The last track is getting its paint this week, we have 4k feet of braid waiting to get laid.
The tracks were using the old SRT timing system, we have a couple of lapmater systems on the way to replace the old system, the strip has trackmate timing.

                                  Marty,

The reasoning for that was to keep the foam tires on the BRM and Revo cars from affecting any other series.  That’s why we put the Thunderslot series there and the NSR 908 series in Q3 as it will be on the rally track. I would be opposed to swapping the series.
