Ok thanks Marty sorry for being so dense 🙁
      I have both
      (a) BRM sponges from 2015 with a Max OD of 30mm (I assume S-021SS or equal from ’15)
      (b) Scaleauto 2424p sponges with a Max OD of 27.5mm
So are both of these legal? (as long as I don’t true below 26.5)

I thought we were using ScaleAuto wheel-tire sets. If not then the S-021SS BRM wheel/tire sets should be the same we used in 2014-15 in Dallas (true?)

Looks like it will be a good way to practice for the track at Kings, at least for the corners!

Technically True – so as part of the “race control” team you could remind the Series Manager to announce that – and it would help you get the software ready and not waste your time waiting on the rest of us 🙂
I guess it comes down to how consistently rigid we want to be in enforcing our written rules.
IMHO – it may help us to be a little more consistent, unless it’s pointless or irritating.
** Certainly – when someone has told you they Need to leave at a certain time or want to rotate in first (b/c of a family obligation or similar event) we should all help the guy out by adhering to our standard schedule.

              FAQ/TROUBLE SHOOTING HINTS
Although my hopping and tire problems were due to ‘marbles’, a quick change to another set of F30s (under the eye of SM John B) reduced the problem but obviously did not eliminate it.
After the race I tore down my car and discovered that I had an almost invisible *Chassis crack* near the rear axle area. So under acceleration when my tires got grip they flexed the chassis and hence the Hop I was experiencing.

                Steve good comments. My replies:
                — “Penalize” comment – I removed it since after reading it today, in the context it does not make sense, and to explain what I was thinking at the time would take too long and probably be mis-understood. I certainly do Not think Parc Ferme as a practice is a penalty at all; its a preventative measure and also helps reduce late race starts.
                — I think it would be good to clearly Announce a specific time that all cars should be in Parc Ferme, which should probably be 5 minutes before green light (enough time for a bathroom break). If you can’t make the cutoff you cannot compete and are relegated to marshal duty.
                — Callout – I agree that anyone should be able to alert the Series Manager that Parc Ferme practice was not followed, and that it could be grounds for an automatic post-race inspection (at discretion of the SM). I suggest that any DQs or time penalties occur after the inspection.
                — Crap Happens – Yep if a car breaks mid-race the racer can pull out and request a breakfix, or choose to limp on (as long as their car is not presenting a clear danger to other racers/cars (e.g. wheels or screws flying off etc.) The SM should make the decision on what repairs can be allowed, should monitor the repair in real time, and keep repairs less than 5 minutes.

P.S.  In a related thread, I discovered the source of my wheel hop/chop this weekend,

My $1.27. First the only time I have witnessed a conscious (and observable) attempt to cheat in our club was with Bobby in 2017, therefore I am not sure what current problem the new rules are meant to solve.  That being said, Parc Ferme is a well established standard in 1×1 racing of almost all types, and very common (from what I can tell via the interweb) practice among other slot-car sanctioning bodies and clubs. Conclusion – it’s a common and beneficial best-practice that No current ASCC member should have any “problem” with (as long as its practiced consistently with common sense!)
Also, in many 1×1 racing, post-race inspection is common when certain racers or cars seem to consistently dominate (by significant metrics) a race or series (these often lead to rules changes due to advantages discovered by a team who ‘meets the legal definition’ of the rules, yet is clever enough to implement advantageous technology or techniques not Explicitly prohibited in the rules).  Let’s never forget that the original point of inspection and Parc-Ferme rules is to facilitate fairness and prevent overt and significant advantages not openly available to all club members. Likewise, the reality is that some racers are smarter or more precise than others and/or may have lucked into a “god car” that out performs the pack.
To address some of Erik’s points, I suggest that if someone has a significant repair to do during a Round, they have to request from the Series Manager (or inspector if that was a different person) (a) if the repair is allowed, and (b) a request for extended Lane-change period to complete the repair. The Series Manager can approve/reject the request and set a time for the repair to be completed.  Ideally the Series Manager  should observe the repair.  Obviously this decision should be made based on criteria to (a) allow fairness for the racer to have a chance to continue in the Round, (b) fairness and reasonableness for the other racers (e.g. repairs cannot significantly delay the completion of the Round). Finally – ONLY the Series Manager can make these decisions. If another racer wants to protest the decision, that should occur After the round is complete (I suggest no fee for the protest).  A post-race inspection should be expected by the racer who made the change.
Also to Erik’s points, if it’s possible to document criteria for these decisions, we could do so (it’s tedious but not impossible) – or we can just continue with the current approach of letting the Series Manager exercise their judgement and responsibility without killing ourselves with endless what-if scenarios.

FINALLY-Guys – remember that we are in theory racing for FUN, not fame or fortune 🙂
Let’s not take things too-serious or it will be like enforcing PGA rules on a 9-hole-Scramble golf game!

                    UPDATE ON STATS
I was told that some of the statistics for the last Round-4 (4.20) are wrong, this was after the race management software got wonked by the power outage – affecting the format of the RMS .CSV files.
(in fact the CSV I saw did not have points correctly calculated, and apparently a few other metrics are whack!)

                      2019 RALLY UPDATE
                      1. Just a reminder that this year the rally series is a Quarterly event – starting July 6.
                      2. The theme is “Targa Florio” a mountainous Italian road race where many style of cars were used. Study up if you are not already familiar with this classic!
                      3. The RULES will be updated soon – including the all important list of legal Car bodies, liveries, slot car manufacturer, model-#s. We apologize for the finalization of the Rules being so close to the first round 🙁

** So – in the coming weeks please acquire a car, build/tune it and practice!
                      4. Just FYI – the leaderboard criteria are fairly simple- fastest time to complete 40 laps – over Five races determines Round rank and overall Series rank (as of May 10 – points will not be awarded for fast lap. If you wish to discuss bring up in a club meeting).

I know this series is several months away, but as rules get firmed up the page needs to be updated:
                        — Correct tire/wheel spec (SC-2012)

?? Since ceramic bearings are prohibited, can we also spec that ‘open’ metal ball-bearings are also prohibited?

                        — Should we name allowed bearing lubricants?

It would be interesting if our club reached out to Jeff (or Glen, the manager of the storage business aka. ‘Petrol Lounge’) to see if they would be interested in having some fun races together (according to Glen there is an unnamed group of Jeff’s customers/friends who race on this track).

So, last weekend 4/7/19 Capitol had a run-what-ya-brung race organized by a local 1/24 fan. It was announced on the Facebook page and the regional slot car board (slotcars.net). Appx 10-12 racers showed up; after test and tune qualifying ran up close to 5pm (normally closing time), then 8 intense 5 minute heats. The rack seems more stable than a few weeks ago, not sure if they added more glue or straightened out the hairpin; altho there were still several de-slots in the inside hairpin. Wings and door-stops with high fins were the preferred cars. Best laps were all in the upper 3s (3.8-9). The counter has new product, and Chris is in process of repairing several rental cars and controllers. They also have a sorely needed pack of Parma lane stickers, but need to post a standard rotation.
The drag strip is operational. The only 2 reasons I can guess as to why the tree is so far down the track are (1) it’s position is less distracting to the wing/road racers, (2) it’s distance makes it extremely hard to see the guy in the next lane via peripheral vision (i.e. a good result). Working out the gluing strategy seems to be a work-in-progress.
The driver-stations I thought they were going to add are still not installed; I have cobbled together a hanging tray for my controller and an extended XLR to gator adaptor with extra large clips to fit the rectangular u-bolts.  They claim a website is up but all I can find is the board: http://slotcars.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=32

First – super-cool post! Next – do you have a 3D-Printer? If so – it may be interesting for you to collaborate with Alex, Steve and Russel to 3D some custom chassis for a future series (e.g. where Scalextric, Fly or Carerra offers a cool body but no decent chassis are available.)
TIRES – Marc if you could duplicate some F30s size tires they would be good to replace the crappy tires on the rental cars that are stashed in out pit shelves.
