A place for us to propose and discuss potential series for the 2025 season.
September 12, 2024 at 5:50 AM #19708I have mentioned this to Randy, but might as well open it up to wider discussion. 1:32 B Sedan / Trans Am U2 on the main track
This could use the Revoslot GRP 2 cars we ran on the rally track previously. Many of us have these cars already, and I’m sure many are eager to try out the Revo 510s in competition. It could be a mostly spec series, or we could open it up to allow for more possibilities. What do Y’all think?

-Warren ZevonSeptember 12, 2024 at 5:53 AM #19711I like the idea! My Revo Escort is one of my favorite cars. It’s a hoot to drive it on the big track.
September 12, 2024 at 5:53 AM #19712The U2 TransAm and SCCA BSedan races were great. One thing I like are the RevoSlot chassis, but there is not a “Class spoiler” Porsche 911 in RevoSlot. John and David have very good other 911’s and I have parts for a IMSA CProd Porsche in Canadian Ludwig Heimrath BFGoodrich livery. I don’t know if the non-Revos could be made competitive.
My other favorite from prior years is the Thunderslot CanAm class. I loved the real cars and the 1/32’s.
I do not have a preference yet for a rally series or two.

September 12, 2024 at 11:38 AM #19716Precautionary Tale. Shapeway and Olifer not longer are in business of making 3D chassis. The potential 66-70 Trans Am Mustang, Camaro, Barracuda race is not viable at this time unless we go way-back to stock Scalextric chassis. Many Fly and other slot cars no longer have 3D chassis available. I don’t know how our group B rally cars can be duplicated if using 3D chassis. Sloting plus makes some for Scalextric under the PCR brand.
September 12, 2024 at 1:18 PM #19717The more I think of it, the more I think a Revo spec series would be good. Should make for close racing.

-Warren ZevonSeptember 22, 2024 at 12:45 PM #19718For the rally track in 2025, would there be any interest in reviving Targa Florio? I did not participate last time, so I don’t know what cars ran, or were eligible. I might be a nice change of pace from The Monte, and some people should already have cars.

-Warren ZevonSeptember 24, 2024 at 12:02 PM #19732If we were to go for a fairly wide slice of time, say from 1966 to 1972, that would give us a wide variety of cars to chose from, including cars many of us already have, including the Slot.it Ford Gt40 and Chaparral, Policar Ferrari 330P3, NSR Porsche 908.
Among other entrants are:
Porsche 911
Ferrari 312PB
Alfa Romeo 33/3
Porsche 907Some more info, links to an Italian site:

-Warren ZevonSeptember 25, 2024 at 9:17 AM #19733Guys – I think we need to limit the time range to a smaller number of years. The NSR 908/3 is a game changer and will be the only car in the field as it has the best performance. I would suggest a pre-70’s race. Maybe ’66 to ’69 That would rule out the NSR 908/3 but leave it open for a ton of other great cars.
September 25, 2024 at 11:04 AM #19734The Ferrari won and the race report suggests the Ferrari was easier to drive. I remember some people switched from Porsche to Ferrari. This was one of my favorite rally series.
September 25, 2024 at 8:41 PM #19735Go to the results for 2021 Targa Florio by searching for Porsche 908.
September 25, 2024 at 8:54 PM #197371969 had the 908, Lola t70, alfa 33/2, so to get rid of the fastest cars we have run we go back to1968, although I prefer the 1969 cars.
September 26, 2024 at 12:00 PM #19747Randy – the Porsche 908 that ran in 1969 was the older version and not the 908/3 that NSR makes. The 908 in 1969 was the first version of the car.
September 26, 2024 at 3:51 PM #19748Would this be the Porsche 908 we could run.
Fly 99169 – Porsche 908/2 – Martini Racing
September 28, 2024 at 1:42 PM #19749Correct. These cars are good performers with a 3D chassis. The trick now is finding a 3D chassis with Shapeways closed.
