I’ve spent the past 2 couple of days driving on the track and have spent about 30-45 min running on each lane. I agree with Russell and have one other thing we need to address. The green lane has an issue on the main stright at the end. The back of the car it hitting the peg board that Russell leaned up against the back of the track. So we need to look at this with a 1/24 car. Marty can you please bring a BRM car on Saturday so we can look at how to address this?
So far, I’m absolutely loving the track. It’s got a great flow and a nice little technical section to keep it interesting. In my opinion, the green lane is the most difficult, the blue is the easiest and the yellow is in between. I’m starting to have a very great affection for the yellow lane.
Marty and I have started talking about types of tires to use. We’ve both agreed that we don’t want to allow silicone tires. They require a very smooth and glossy finish of which we don’t have and they also pickup the rubber that gets laid down with rubber and urethane tires. So far, I’m seeing excellent results with Super Tires Yellow Dog tires and the Slot.it P6 are very consistent. We need to figure out a good way to clean off the track and there’s just tons of dust on the track and I’m cleaning tires every couple of laps. Because of the grit in the track surface, I’m getting a very nice truing of the tires when driving.
Guys, excellent work! Thanks for everyone’s hard work on making this track a reality. When I met Marty back in Decemeber, I never imagined we’d have a track up and running 9 months later. Thanks to everyone!!
