Speaking to your issue with the BRM rules and the fact that only BRM parts can be used – I was reading the forums last night to see if there were any updated 2011 BRM rules and came accross something that Alan wrote about using the motor shim in the older Porsche chassis. He said that once you install the motor shim you cannot tighten the motor holder down all the way as it will flex the chassis and possibly break it. The approved solution is to use BRM front axle spacers between the motor holder and the chassis. Only BRM axle spacers will be allowed. Don’t even think of using some off the shelf washer for this application. Anyone need the part number for BRM’s brass axle spacers? S-001W.

I guess I’ll be ordering something resembling that part number. Thank goodness BRM doesn’t make lube, or controllers, or air… 😈
