ROUND ONE PLANNING – 2022 ASCC SERIES

Oct 9 we had an in-person meeting with five of our 12 members.  We focused only on the First-half (Q1 – Jan-Mar, Q2-Apr-Jun, H1-Jan-Jun) series. These are still open for debate as needed.

    Our 2022 First-half – Candidates are:
Q1: Slot.IT Group-C as normal (no rule changes)
Q2: Rally-22-a – Monte Carlo (to give us a chance to finalize rules, obtain cars and spares, etc.)
H1: ThunderSlot (existing cars available [McLaren, Lola]; (if the Elva seems to have an advantage we will need to discuss.)

    We will soon have a meeting to cover the Second-half (Q3: Jul-Sep, Q4: Oct-Dec, H-2).

    Possible Second-half Candidates:
NSR GT-3:  Mosler  (as ran in 2015)
RevoSlot:  (we need to clarify the tire and wheel situ. and what models to allow)
Rally-22-b:  Targa-Florio redux (new cars? different years?)

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer.
