I agree with your post. One early (late 60’s) BFGoodrich racing story is that the winning Porsche had a flat tire and the driver pulled out the BFG collapsible spare, changed the flat and proceeded to win. The young engineer assigned to the design for the racing wheel in Akron got a letter of thanks from one of the Porsche family members that went into his personnel file. Should we require everyone to change a flat tire (take of a wheel and put it back on).
Once I would like to have the Targa car also run 40 laps on the big track, without changing anything, and crown a one time champion for overall performance. a few weeks ago Steve and I tried running the big track with the power clockwise and it was a challenge, especially with the small rally guide down hill through the esses, very rally like.
