Round 7 of El Piloto was the closest ever.
The track and drivers smoldered in the 97 degree heat. Competition warmed the room even more despite moderate quantities of cold beer and and an even colder Slushie for Hunter. We were all glad to see his return now that school has ended and he can return his focus to racing.
Check out these stats for close race results:
Marty, Russell, and Shawn each turned in 213 laps after 15 minutes of hot racing with Marty edging out Russell by inches with 213.8 versus Russell`s 213.7 laps and Shawn just behind at 213.0. Even more remarkably, Marty and Russell both tied each other with fastest laps of 4.073. WOW!
Jim placed 4th with 209 laps; Roy and Brian slugged it out with 207 and 206 laps respectively. Hunter has been focusing on good grades and still clocked a fastest lap of 4.221.
It seldom gets closer, hotter, or more exciting than this race.
