The heat was on, and the lap times down for the third entry in the 2025 Targa Florio. For whatever reason the race statistics did not save this outing, but wee do have overall results, thanks to photos taken of the leader board, and the club video feed. Thunderslots made a very strong showing again, but a Slot it did make it onto the podium. Race three was run in a counter-clockwise direction as determined by coin-toss. most drivers find this direction more challenging than clockwise.
Heat 1 was John B with his Slot.it GT40 in Ford France livery. . John had few offs, and a fast lap of 6.94 , and total time of 294.8 seconds for 40 laps.
Marc T. was next with a Slot.it Chapparal 2F depicting the Phil Hill, Hap Sharp Targa entry. Fast lap was 6.72 seconds with a total time of 284.1. Not the fastest car by any stretch, but it did look cool making its way around the track.
Third was Dave C with his formidable Thunderslot Lola T70. Dave turned in a fast lap of 6.4 seconds, and a 40 lap total time of 267.3 (First)
Mel made his return with his Slot.it GT40, also in Ford France livery. Very fast and consistent with a fast lap of 6.34, and a total time of 271.8 (second)
Steve B was up next with his black Thunderslot Lola. Steve’s fast lap was a blistering 6.281, but several offs relegated him to (third) place with a total time of 272.2 seconds for 40 laps.
Randy A Showed up in the nick of time with his Slot.it GT40 to round out the field. The wine and gold Ford turned in a fast lap of 6.92 seconds with a total time of 298.02.
Our Targa Florio is half-over for the year. Will the same pattern hold, or are there any surprises in store for the balance of the series.
