Thunderslot Lolas dominated again for the second event in the 2025 Targa Florio series on our rally track, taking all three podium spots. (I knew there was a reason I wanted to outlaw them). A fairly light grid on this July afternoon with only 6 contestants participating. It was warm, but not scorching hot. That comes later in the series.
The first heat was Randy A running a wine and gold slot.it GT40. Randy was quick and smooth in this car with a 6.99 fast lap and an overall time of 302.9 seconds for 40 laps.
David C was next with his Surtees liveried Thunderbolt Lola. Best lap was a blistering 6.25, with a total time of 268.4 seconds (First)
John B. enered the fray with his Ford France liveried Slot.it GT40 with a fast lap of 6.63 seconds and a total time for 40 laps of 287.0 seconds. The Fords do well, but may just not be up to catching the Lolas.
Marc T was up next, piloting a Porsche 906 by Fly in Scuderia Fillipinetti livery. Word on the street was it was pretty fast for a Fly, but way off the pace of the Thunderslots. Fast lap was 6.99, with a total time of 298.7 seconds
Marty M followed with a White and green Thunderslot T70. Very fast, with a best lap of 6.51
seconds, and a total time of 281.3 seconds. (Third)
Rounding out the field was Stephen B. with his black Thunderslot Lola. Screaming to a fast lap of 6.12 seconds and a total time of 277.19, Steve took second.
