Targa Florio ’65 to ’69 Stage 1 Results
It was humid and warmish for the inaugural race of the 2025 Targa Florio at the Austin HQ. What was anticipated as a field dominated by GT40s was actually a Lola heavy grid, This was due to the Thunderslot T70s being deemed legal late in the game due to a scaling mixup earlier committed by yours truly.
First heat, Kim: Running an NSR GT40 fresh out-of-the-box Kim turned in a Fast Lap: 7.67, Average Lap: 9.39 40 laps total time: 375.9 seconds.
Second heat, Marty: Marty went with a Thunderslot Lola T70. These were deemed legal just weeks before the first race. Times turned in were Fast Lap: 6.63, Average Lap: 7.61 40 laps total time: 304.6 seconds.
Third heat, David: Also running the Thunderslot Lola, David turned in a fast and consistent Fast Lap: 6.403, Average Lap: 6.72 40 laps total time: 268.8 seconds
Fourth heat, Randy: Switching things up, Randy chose a beautiful Scalextric Ferarri 250LM Fast Lap: 7.55, Average Lap:8.10 40 laps total time: 324.1 seconds.
Fifth heat, Stephen: Also running a Thunderslot Lola, Stephen turned in the following times: Fast Lap: 6.27, Average Lap: 7.07 40 laps total time: 282.9 seconds.
Sixth heat, Marc: A Policar Ferrari 330 P4 was MArc’s choice this outing turning in a Fast Lap: 6.57, Average Lap: 6.71 40 laps total time: 270.4 seconds.
Seventh heat, John: The lone slot.it car for this event, John ran the Ford GT40 in Ford France livery. Times were fast lap: 6.70, Average Lap: 7.16 40 laps total time: 286.6 seconds.
