The second race of the Group 2 series was held on Saturday, February 7, under cool February conditions outside but comfortable racing indoors. The event drew a strong turnout, including a number of guests who came to observe the club and experience the racing firsthand.
The field was divided into A and B groups for the event.
A Group – The A Group race featured a very tight contest at the front. Marty M. secured the win with a consistent performance totaling 223.75 laps. David C. pushed hard throughout the race and set the fastest lap of the event at 3.732 seconds, finishing just 0.35 laps behind Marty with 223.40 laps.
Marc T. completed the podium in third place with 214.22 laps after a steady run. Brian H. and John B. were separated by only a few hundredths of a lap in their battle for fourth, with Brian narrowly ahead at the finish. Melvin B. rounded out the group after a competitive effort.
B Group – Randy A. led the B Group with a strong and consistent performance, taking the win with 197.35 laps. Mark L. finished second with 195.44 laps, less than two laps behind Randy. Kim D. completed the group in third with 171.55 laps.
The B Group showed clear improvement compared to the opening round, with all three drivers increasing their lap totals. Randy A. again led the group, while Mark L. significantly reduced the gap to Randy compared to Race #1. Kim D. also posted a substantial gain over the first event, contributing to a notable increase in overall pace across the group.
