NSR Formula 22 Race 6

The last race of the year is always a good time as it is followed by the clubs Christmas parts where there is some great food and our annual white elephant gift exchange. 
The day was clear and the clubhouse warmed up in the afternoon. The final round of Formula 22 had 5 entries in Group A and 2 in Group B.
Group B saw Randy’s Chaparral take the win with 208.8 laps and a fastest lap of 4.044. Mark Lyon’s Alfa Romeo took second with 197.2 laps and a 4.238 best lap. Randy was very consistent and Mark has shown real progress during the series.
John’s green Aston Martin took first in Group A with 225.25 laps and a 3.788 fast lap. It was John’s first win and hard fought with Dave, who took a very close second running 225.23 laps and fastest lap of the day at 3.711. The difference between the two after 225 laps and three heats was less than a foot! Third went to Marc Tyler’s immaculate Red Bull turning 223.12 laps and a fast lap of 3.750. Marty’s Mercedes claimed fourth place with 219.85 laps and 3.8 best lap. Brian’s Ferrari took fifth with 213.55 laps and best of 3.933.
NSR Formula 22 Series overall places were 1. Dave, 2. John, 3 Marc 4. Marty, 5. Brian 6. Melvin and 7. Erik.
