Wow! That is really cool technology. I have always enjoyed looking at the OEPS website and looking at all the detail and performance those cars have as well as the really cool tracks they race on. The site makes me sad that there is not something like this in the States. It makes me wish:
There was something similar to this is the States. I can’t fathom there are not enough serious sloters out there that would totally enjoy this type and level of competition.
We could have a nice big track like those inside of a space that was heated and air conditioned that actually welcomed slot car people.
Enough said. Thanks for posting Ary.

I will be using the 1968 Ford Mustang fastback #23 from Pioneer. This is the same car I ran in our first Trans Am series. Still has the lane color sticker on the bottom of the chassis.I don’t know what it says about me but I watched all of it and enjoyed most of it. Queen was great as well as Bill Withers and Lean on Me. What a great song. Could be a possible theme song for a BRM series.

I was thinking we were talking about the 70’s. I know we have run these before but this time we would allow more modifications to the cars similar to the upcoming Scalextric GT series. Better guides, motors, gears and lots of ballast. The only thing we might want to consider is a limit to the RPM of the motor. Other than that I am good with this.

Unlimited Trans Am? Maybe we could get this to work if we changed the rules to offer the same construction as we are with the upcoming Scalextric GT series. I think everyone likes the cars but they are so challenging to drive in the stock configuration.

There is a fine line between great driving and luck at those speeds.

Brian,
I think that’s a great idea. I like the condo idea better than the camping. Maybe we rent a RV and camp in that? There are not too many close race tracks to go to. I would vote for the 24 hours of Daytona. Classic race, place to park the RV, and long enough race to get to all places around the track, pits and infield. Tickets for the 2014 race should be available soon.
I would be up for running a 1/28 scale mini-z series. Are you thinking we would run a spec chassis or would we open everything up – chasssis, motor, tires, etc? What series would we match with the bodies? Group C, GT, etc…
I am assuming you are truing the tires before you apply the glue?
Marty
Ary,
Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate you putting the rules together. Any suggested glue you would recomend?
The rules say “Tires may be not be glued.” What does this mean? We can or can’t glue the tires?
Marty
I will be running the Warsteiner livery for the series in case anyone else was planning on running one.
What gearing is everyone using? Is that asking too much? Is everyone’s gearing a secret?

After learning today that we have to run the stock anglewinder set up I need to prep a new car for this series. I don’t have time to paint and decal a car in time for the series so I was going to run a stock Slot It livery. I know Ary, Brian, and Stephen are running their custom liverys but I want to know what everyone else is running. I am trying to not run the same livery as someone else but may not have a choice. Let me know what you are running so I can prepare accordingly.

I remember watching the race live on that early Sunday morning thinking this could not be happening. Truly a sad day for all racing fans.
I am good with it as long as Kings will have plenty in stock for everyone to purchase.
