Alright, what times are people running in setting up their cars? I have a 25K motor with 9×23 gearing and a 112gr car that needs my 1/24 controller with all of its brakes and the best I can run is 4.18 on the edge and 4.22 without pushing at qualifying pace. Anyone else had time to run their cars?

September 18, 2018 at 5:45 PM in reply to: Would the club be willing to host a leg of a pre-war proxy? #13029The proxy races we did were super fun. The racing was fun with nothing to prepare and nothing to worry about other than having fun running some really cool cars. I also found it interesting to see all of the different ways people had built their cars. A real learning experience.
If you want to take on the logistics it would be fun for the club to run.

Thanks for sharing. We have participated in multiple proxy races before. They are not easy to put on and there needs to be one person who is in charge of making it happen. The best way to see if anyone is interested is to bring the details to a club meeting – second Saturday’s of the month – and make the pitch to the club. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

The common wheel to use is the Slot It 17×10 in either aluminum or magnesium. You can use a Slot It F30 tire in 20×10 or a BRM shore 25 in the 20×11 size. Either of these tires will work. The Slot It tires are far more consistent and provide good grip. The BRM tires are a little wider but do not always perform well. I will have all of these items at the track this Saturday if you are planning on being there. I can also show you some other tips for better performance.
Wow! That is looking great. I can’t wait to run there. I am looking forward to seeing the flat track, other than the long one with no turns.
Well stated.
Tom,
It’s looking fantastic. Can’t wait to run there. I don’t know what its like to run in a conditioned space that has real lighting. Thanks for the posts. Its fun watching it come together.

93.7 degrees!? Did you guys not have the air conditioner on?
Wow! That looks amazing. Thanks for posting the updated pictures.

WOW! That it amazing. It’s amazing to see how different racers have excelled in different races. No one is dominating the series and the smallest mistake or set up error can cost dearly. It will be interesting to see if the final three races are as gentlemanly as the first three. Things could get tense when battling in the turns with some you are tied in points with. Let’s hope the clerk of the course will not have to become involved.
Interesting. Steve doesn’t look Brazilian. Good luck to him. Looking forward to it.
Tom, super exciting news. We are all super excited about your facility and can’t wait to run there. Thanks for the update.
Mark,
Running a 6.9 is not that impressive when you look at the times that were run in the last rally series. One lap at 6.9 seconds does not a five minute heat make. There is much more to it than just one lap that is really not that impressive. If it were a 6.5 or 6.6 that would be a different thing.
