So, what was the result of the trip to Capitol Slot Cars on Sat Dec 15?

Sammy with MontroseErick, ASCC built the track and it is our track not Kings. As a member, when Kings is open (10-7 M-F, 10-6 Sa, Su) you can use it for free. In years past they charged members ($7) for using the track on other than Thurs or Sat and we even paid double on Sats ($5 to the club for each race and $5 access to Kings). They stopped that about 2-3 years ago : )
When paying renters use the track (as when practicing after a Saturday race or on Thurs) we a) help them pick out a rent car and Parma controller, b) inspect any personal cars they have for Silicone or sponge tires, c) reset the practice software, d) turn power down to 9 or 10v, e) give them advice on where to brake. We let them get their 30-minutes in and then we get back to our settings and practice.
Likewise, as a member you have access to: — the truers, pinion tool, and power supplies, — soldering iron and Dremel, — stereo, –Defalco controllers.

Sammy with MontroseErick, that is stunning! Randy & John -if you still need help on the rules I can assist at the next practice or race when we can edit them from the clubs TV PC. Marty is a pro with the rules so I assume you have a good start already …

Are you offering to *allow smaller diameter tires (esp. the rears) to (a) accommodate clearance in the rear wheel wells – esp. if we have very loose body screws (and hence can have interior rubbing in a corner) (b) allow for tire wear."... get on your bad motor scooter and ride!"

Led Zeppelin Mclaren, “Jimmy Page” version – #21
Will be slightly different from Russ’ car."... get on your bad motor scooter and ride!"
Sammy with MontroseErik – see if any replacement chassis are available. I have had poor luck consistently finding them in stock. I think this upgrade chassis fits your Lancia model (SICA-08)

If not – there are at least 2 other ways you can set basic axle height. Once you have created a stable axle height you fine tune the tire height with guide spacers."... get on your bad motor scooter and ride!"

Sammy with Montrose@TA-Radial – I think we need to revise a few past series, otherwise we are painting ourselves into a corner with the same ‘fun’ series – year after year…
I would rather re-visit RevoSlot, ThunderSlot and 1/24 ScaleAuto again in 2020.
Otherwise – we have only Two series to experiment with.@917 – I favor BRM in 2019, for 1/24. Group-C Plus 917s …
The 1/24 BRM/132slot TAs look extra-super-cool – but we REALLY need to consider affordability for All members.@TA-Radial, @917 – I prefer a 1/32 Trans Am Redux with more practical rules (and car choices) this time.
?Why aren’t we even thinking about 1/32 Womps or 1/24 Flexies with RUBBER tires? These are $60 cars with another $15 in wheels and tires. Just Saying it would be a challenge and certainly some technology that could be used in Pflugerville.

Sammy with MontroseMarty – as far as I am aware, you and David have some of the fastest practice times so far.
I won’t say you guys set the bar for us – since that got me in trouble last time 😉Obviously these are temperamental beasts, esp. in the weight/balance tuning. Gear selection also seems to be crapshoot – with 9/23-25 (@25k mtr) seeming to be the range where torque and RPMs have to be balanced. They aint thunderslots or revos : (

Sammy with MontroseUPDATE -The MASTEC has been reset; to reset it unplug it from the power strip behind the computer (I have a tag on the MASTECs power cord). Give it a day to discharge its capacitors and fully re-set. Erik somehow tripped if the other day when truing tires on the ‘new’ dual-wheel truer. Maybe this thing needs to be replaced?! I will discuss at annual meeting.
BROWN REFER – I am moving drinks out of the dorm fridge below the TV PC. It seems to Freeze everything *regardless of coldness setting. I suspect the Sensor attached to the freezer-can has died. These are generally not replaceable/repairable at a reasonable cost. We may need to get a new fridge at Goodwill.

Sammy with MontroseKEIN – what if the wheel physically measures 15mm at the rim, and 17.1mm at the rib? (regardless of its spec on paper?) I just checked them last night.

Sammy with MontrosePOWER SUPPLIES
— The Rally Power Supply is fixed. The voltage control pot (potentiometer) had it’s case broken, either by slamming the P/S computer cubby door on the knob, or an overly enthusiastic racer trying to dial in a voltage. A multi-turn precision pot -like the won that broke- was installed; it has some metal reinforcements on the case in the back so hopefully is lasts.
MIN voltage is 8.24, MAX 15.7 – currently set at 10v for October.!! The MASTEC (big truing-machine power supply) has *again been Over-voltaged – While I was at Fryes Sat afternoon, someone clipped the Red(positive) wire on the Black(negative) post. This is the 2nd time in about 3 weeks – come on guys pay a little more attention when you are putting up things!

Sammy with MontroseTom – looks great! I am getting ready by refreshing the frame-solder on my funnycars and replacing the sponges on my flexis. BTW – what are you using for a ‘sand-trap’ on the strip, (some people use a bag or a net)?
