I have seen the pictures and looks like it uses a standard pod, if that is not the case I would say we could allow it with an older style pod (without the Evo6 arms).
At this point I think we don’t need to change any of the rules, just go with higher voltage so everybody will get decent performance from the motors.
The pinion issue can be used as a guideline; if someone wants to use a 10 or 11 tooth pinion is their choice.
LOL, That’s what I’m trying to avoid: a field of NSRs and Slot.its.
The Mille Miglia idea is pretty cool, my only concern is the availability of ready to run models. I would probably go with a resin body — there are some nice ones out there — got do some reasearch.
For Mille were you guys thinking post-war, touring and GT cars?

For Targa I would say from 55 to 68; on 69 the cars start to look like ugly.
I’m willing to race Scalex, SCX or any other of the kid brands (except Carrera) as long as we can change parts on it — motor and chassis could be stock.
I guess that a good starting point for the rules would be to adapt some of the Proxy rules to our club; normally they allow several brands and upgrades.
“1. We need to be absolutely strict with the lane sticker rule.”
Suggestion:
– 5 lap penalty if car starts heat with wrong lane sticker. As soon as the issue is noticed, the racer needs to stop his car (stop the car on the straight, in front of the driving station) and correct the problem. If the car is not stopped within 2 laps, it will be disqualified. If we install a track call button, it would be used; driver would be penalized with 5 laps and would fix the problem where the car stopped.
– If a car interferes with another car’s run, heat will be restarted and car with wrong lane sticker will be penalized 25 laps.
“2. We need to adjust the break/repair under green rule to include additional parts beyond wings.“
I agree with fixing the wheels and wings. I don’t think we should enforce fixing windshield, headlight covers, and other small parts (ie wheels inserts).
To encourage the use of cars where the wing is not part of the body, we could allow wing reinforcement with glue or tape.
“3. We need to set a maximum default race start time of 2:30 PM on Saturdays, unless other arrangements have been explicitly set up and agreed to in advacne. Drivers who think they might be later than that can still opt-in to the race, but will forfiet laps not run if they come up in the heat rotation before arriving. For discussion: Do we let a racer enter mid-heat if that’s when they arrive? (My inital reaction to that is “no”, but its probably worth 5 minutes of discussion.)”
Agree with starting time. We could push the late driver heats as far as possible.
Do not agree with allowing a racer to enter an ongoing heat; I don’t see a problem with allowing a driver that has missed a heat to race the remaining ones.
“4. We need to discuss a track-call rule. i.e. When does it apply? How do we make sure the RMS is manned during the race? etc…”
What applies as a track call:
– Car is racing on the wrong lane; 2 cars on the same lane.
– Car has desloted on areas without marshals: under the tunnel; T1,T4 and T5 when out of a marshal reach.
– Car is racing with the wrong lane sticker.
After the little mishaps we had so far, I think we need a track call button (several actually, one for each driver station and marshal positions).
Sounds like I need to start saving money for another ticket.

Kinda x-rated ….

Russell,
Thanks for taking the time to this tutorial. I will start working on mine as soon as I can; it is good to know all the parts I will need, specially the hubless wheels.
May 26, 2011 at 12:36 AM in reply to: Gears pitch & mesh: A look into Slot.it variable pitch gears #1376Thank you guys,
I’ve been meaning to write this up for a while, found some time today.
Marty,
We can check on the Scaleauto gears, I think BBR/MB Slot gears with the separated stop colar may be fixed pitch as well.
New Image:
Just got off the phone with Jim at Magnatech, there are no parties scheduled for that day on the yellow track. If we want to reserve the track, the price for all the 8 lanes is $56 per hour (I don’t thik this is needed but you never know).
Now we need to find out the best time to head down there an how many of us can go.
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND THE EARLIEST TIME YOU WILL BE AVAILABLE THAT DAY.
