Guess what?! The city granted the permit and they will shoot the video.
“The City of Austin has granted a permit for Red Bull to shoot a promotional video downtown this morning in connection with the return of Formula One to the United States.
The filming is considered to be closed set and not a public event.
Several city streets north of the Capitol will be closed from 5 to 11 a.m. today:
• Congress Avenue between 15th and 17th streets.
• Sixteenth and 17th streets between Colorado and Brazos streets.
Austin police will periodically stop traffic on 15th Street between Brazos and Colorado streets during shooting to allow the car to pass, the city said.
The permit, filed Aug. 12, said the car, three cameras and a trailer will be used.
The crew will have barriers around the route for safety, a Red Bull spokesman said.
The car will then be on display from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum at Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
“Red Bull is excited about the upcoming U.S. Grand Prix, and based on hosting past events in the city, is eager to drive awareness of the race and the sport in general to a broad audience,” Red Bull said in a statement this week.
Formula One races are planned for a track under construction in southeastern Travis County for 10 years beginning next year.”

That would be nice to see. But I’m guessing they will do it early: 7~9am?
Ended up buying a 25K NSR.
Marty,
I have an NSR; its too heavy and slower in RPM than a Yellow Slot.it. I couldn’t get the weight distribution right when I tried the NSR, it also made the car weight 90+ grams. With the Slot.it and adapter I’m getting 60% to 40% weight distribution and the car will weight about 80~81 grams.
Regarding the Sloting Plus orange (red?) car: We can use a green dye instead of paint — that would help keep the weight down.
I don’t think we need to remove however is preparing the cars from competition. If we use the Sloting Plus cars, there’s little to do, we may not even need to change the tires, in the end everyone will race the same setup.
Both work … I just want to race this time

Last week I was about to order the body and decals from pattos — I’m glad I went to Pendles for the body and saw that Scaleauto was going to produce it.
That is a pretty car! But I won’t be buying from your source, 60 euros for the body only?
Let’s do it.
I will hate to see our current track go … hopefully we can find a new home for it; close by.
“Anyone up for a larger track? Say 100′ plus?” Not Magnatech.
Now; are you talking about a new ASCC 4/5 lane, 100+ feet track?

Regarding Scale Auto: Can we set up rules in such way that someone can use a carrera body with a scaleauto chassis?
I will get the BMW to be released.
It is pretty … but both my GT 40 and the Toyota have assembly defects.
Oops … forget about it. Body only for about $110 — no way Jose.
