I would like to establish the number of turns our club track has and suggest naming them for reference.
Possible naming suggestion are:
using classic slot car manufacture names
Strombecker, Revell, Monogram, Cox, Eldon, Riggen, Parma, Marx, Aurora, Artin, Tyco
use name of real turns on classic tracks
too many to name here
give every founding member of the track a turn and allow them to name itThoughts?

Marty, you mentioned 9 turns, is it something like this?:

Here is the layout with the turns numbered. We can continue the thread with “candidate” names for each turn.
BTW: I think it makes sense to name the esses one thing so they are combined into T3. However; if there are other suggestions regarding that particular section, we can go with T3a and T3b in the list of names.

I was surfing track maps and noticed that our combined T6 and T7 are very representative of Sunset Bend at Sebring.(They are even on the west end of the track!) So… I’ll propose:
T6/T7: Sunset Bend
Also… the first slot car mfg is reported to be Lionel, therefore it might be fitting if:
T1: Lionel Lane
Edit: OK… that last one is wildly lame… forget I said that… move along… nothing to see here… 😳

T3 – Senna S
T4 – Casino
T8 – Slingshot
T1- Cemetery
T2 – Redonda
T5 – The MoonSo I was super fast coming out of the slingshot but I ended up crashing on the cemetery … lol

All right!! We have 4(3) down:
T6/T7 = Sunset Bend
T4 = Casino
T3 = Senna SAnd 4 to go:
T2 is sort of smooth and reminds me of something fat, here are a few names for it:
Peraltada (probably the most fitting – check the Mexican: Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez)
Redonda,
La Gorda,
Baleia or BallenaT5 is Treacherous:
Eau Rouge (That used to be one of the trickiest curves in F1, and ours has a very similar shape)T1 and T8 are the hardest ones for me. The shape of T8 reminds me of Dunlop Curve in LeMans.

How about….
T5 = Margarita. Hit it too hard and your off the track in Sunset Bend.
And… keeping with the “theme”…
T8 – Shiner Sweep. Not as treacherous as Margarita, but still enjoyable.
And yes… I might have been under the influence when I wrote this… 😆

HUHU !!! I like the Margarita curve, it is definitely easier to pronounce than Eau Rouge.

I’m bringing this topic back to life.
Some of the members have previously tried to name the turns but we did not fully agree with some of the names.
This time around we could do it by vote. Any member interested in naming the turns would reply this topic with the list of turn numbers and their consecutive name.
To refresh your memory:

I`m thinking Barbosa Bend, the Gordon Gap, Mill`s Corner, the Harriger Hiway, and Marty`s Mustache loop.
