Guys,
Just so nothing slips through the cracks I wanted to get a status report from everyone before we start work on the track this Saturday.
Shawn,
Do you have a computer we can use for timing? If so can you bring it this Saturday so we can figure out where to put it and build a box for it. We will also need to figure out where to put the keyboard so access to it is limited. The timing system is due to arrive at the end of next week and I want to make sure we have everything ready to go for its installation.Brian,
Are you bringing the three 1″x4″x8′ boards and the industrial concrete adhesive for the art work project?Ary,
What monitor did you have in mind for the timing screen and what other pieces do we need to get it mounted in the correct place? I would like to get this done before we begin the landscaping and before the timing system arrives.Russell,
Wish you were here.All,
I am super impressed with the track and feel like we have one of the best looking tracks around. Having said that, I want to make sure we keep tight control over the landscaping. There are so many ways the track can get messed up during the landscaping phase. You are dealing with lots of plaster dust, water, paint, small pieces of scenic grass, etc. You get the point. There needs to be extreme care in how we do the landscaping and how we protect the track while we do it. Lets discuss how we want to proceed on the landscaping at this Saturday’s meeting. One of the things we need to decide on this weekend is whether or not we want a pit lane and winners podium and where they should go.Thanks,

This reply is from Russell-
I went by King’s this afternoon with some cars. The track drives great! It is challenging and fun. I can see it will be a test to see which cars can go through “The Kink” on the lower level past the underpass without lifting. I was reluctant to try too hard with no outside border.
I think that the area between the tracks to the left of the driver’s station should be left flat (lower level) and we could decide later about a pit lane, podium, grandstand, or whatever. We could get the rest of the track finished first. The rest of the track can all be basic, but I would eventually like to see something in that area that looks like a real track.
Ary, the video of the track is terrific.
Catch up with you later,
Russell
