      SLOT CARS CENTRAL TEXAS USA
Guys I would like to suggest that as a club we support the growth of our sport, and our club/brand, by increased participation in the following:
Planned Club Attendance at COTA events. It seems we like to “go our separate ways” at COTA. We race together, lets go to 1:1 Events TOGETHER. Who is going to NASCAR – May 21-23?

      — Planned Club Attendance at Central Texas car-related events
      http://www.motoraustin.com/
… Capital Slot Cars in Pflugerville – as drivers or spectators – in ASCC Colors with flyers
… Dirt racing at Cotton Bowl Speedway (in Paige between Elgin and Giddings)- in ASCC Colors with flyers
… Kart racing at COTA, K1 – as drivers – in ASCC Colors and ‘dropping off’ flyers
Austin Scale Modelers and related meetings and public events

In the Greater Austin Area – there are an estimated 2.1 million people. A significant amount have good incomes and are from out of state. Many are likely to be interested in cars – from any genre and as either fans or racers/owners/builders.

ASCC NEEDS to Appeal to these potential members.
      — we Offer a friendly “Cheers” environment where people can focus on racing and forget about work and other stress in their lives, and perhaps fulfill a fantasy or two …
      — we Have great tracks, skills & experience, tools, camaraderie, consistency – it’s an affordable hobby compared to RC cars/planes or 1:1 racing.
      — Car people should not live in stovepipes – Porsche 256 fans should relate to VW fans … sportscar fans … Miata fans … autocross … Drift … bracket drag racing … dirt track … motocross … kart/super-kart … street bike … Sprints/Modifieds … NASCAR … NHRA … IndyCar … IMSA … F1 … Bonneville …

Anyone stumping their toes, pouting their lower lip and saying “hey brah, eye just cain’t like nun oh dat <whatever racing type they have zero knowledge of> stuff becuz un <of some weird adolescent prejudice>” – is MISSING something we could Enjoy if we gave the genre, people, venue or time-period a chance!

In spite of our diversities we have joined together as friends around something we collectively enjoy. IMHO we NEED to reach out and embrace other clubs, car types, events, people. We NEED to get past any previous reservations, prejudices, conflicts, differences-in-opinion, and so forth for the BENEFIT OF OUR CLUB.

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer.
