What would everyone like to run for our next series? I would like to start thinking about what other series we might run. I think we can continue to run the Slot It challenge alongside another series or inconjunction with another series. What are the thoughts of the group?
1/24 scale BRM, 1/24 scale Carrera, 1/32 GT open series with all manufactures, modern LMP, Scalextric stock, or……….
Thoughts?

If everybody has a Carrera 1/24 we can run an informal race on Thursday or after our regular race on Saturdays.
I will rewind all motors to the same specs and we should race @ 12V.

I’m up for a go at 1/24. It will finally get me to finish picking up the tuning bits I’ve been meaning to order.
I’m kind of itching to run a vintage F1 race too.

That sound good Brian —– but with very slow motors.

There appears to be interest in running a 1/24 scale class. Now all we need to do is decide if we are talking Carrera, BRM, Scaleauto or Avant Slot. From a marketing perspective the Carrera choice would be easy as Kings and Hobby Town already sell them. From a cost perspective Carrera are the cheapest to purchase. Does anyone know if Carrera USA would support a series with some product and marketing support? The big downside to a Carrera series is the lack of quality of the cars and the lack of aftermarket tuning parts.
BRM has a great series that we could run all over the country and get a BRM Challenge race at our track. The cars are, for the most part, great. They drawback is the initial cost to the members that don’t own one and getting Kings to pick them up so we could host a BRM Challenge race.
Having said all this, I don’t even know if we can run three 1/24 scale cars on the track. We need to try three cars at once to make sure it will work. How about everyone bringing a 1/24 scale car to run this Thursday evening.
See you guys on Thursday.

I’ll have mine with me. (Both Carrera and BRM.)

Brian has expressed an interest in F1. I assume we are talking about the Scalextric cars with magnets. It opens up a lot of possibilities for classes:
1) Skinny Tire
2) Vintage, like Lotus, Eagles, etc.
3) Modern day, with McLarens, Brauns, Renaults, Ferraris, etc.
You can count me in. I currently have all 3 types of F1 cars.
As for 1/24, I have a Carrera Ferrari 330P4 still in the box (digital version). I will work on getting it in running condition.
