      TRACK CALL BUTTON
As I was closing up on Sat, I noticed the top cap of the race-controller’s button was very loose– (been that way for a while but …) made worse by the pounding it has received since we mounted it to the side of the track. Since the cap has become the ‘retainer’ to keep it in the clamp, the danger was that one day the body would drop thru and a solder connection would break at the switch. If that happened, it would require us to cut open the PVC for a repair or to clone the whole assembly.
**I did not have any fresh PVC glue so I epoxied the cap to the body. Let’s hope that holds for a while.

      MID-SIZE TRUING POWER SUPPLY
The additional digital power supply we got a few years ago seems to be FUBAR. The Over-voltage LED remains on under All situations and control settings. I took off the cover and there are not any obvious fuses, fusible links, or relays that can be replaced or re-set. All wires appear to be connected fully, no visible solder traces appear broken (but I did not look at the hidden bottom of the circuit board.)
**I have a similar unit I can loan the club until we get a new one. I am also regularly bringing my smaller GOPHERT P/S JIC we have more than one person needing to true tires on a race day.
XX The old large power-supply has been FUBAR since last July. Everything was tried to re-set it (without opening the case). Maybe Ary can do his magic and re-set it once again?!?

      SWIFTER Track Duster
      1. I have made a 4-foot long Swifter handle for getting the first layer of dust off the track.
      2. I am in process of making a Swifter based lane-cleaner, transported by a NINCO Race truck. Probably Not as effective as either the long handle, or compressed air – but looks cool!

      NEW TRACK CLEANING TRUCK
A few years ago I received a Gulf-livery race truck as a gift. I added the yoke for a Swifter(tm)(cr) pad, a routed-track guide, and some weights over the guide and the yoke.
With a fresh Swifter and five laps on each lane the basic dust layer is easy & Fun to remove.
** Make sure to fluff the swifter feathers Back – away from the tires!

At 4-years old in Pensacola I repaired my steering linkage on my Ford Pedal-car. Dad later converted this car to a Blue Angel with ailerons and elevators with a working "stick/yoke"; the rudder was controlled by the steering wheel. I like all motorsports - I grew up going to a NASCAR Feeder track with Sportsman and Modified classes, and was lucky to attend drag races in 1970 at Orange County Raceway. My first solder-iron was a Christmas gift at 9yo; I modified T-Jets to be AFX spec before AFX Cars were in local stores. I rebuilt a few tractor & car (SIMCA) engines plus transmissions by 15yo (I still have my ring-compressor and valve spring tool) I am a former mountain and road bike geek & perennial sound engineer.
