      Hello All-

Although I have been sucessful in converting some of tne newer Carrera Evolution F1’s to digital by soldering in new IC’s, I have not quite figured out how to do it with the older Evolution F1 cars. It looks like at a minimum there will be some drilling involved, and I am not sure what else I may need to do to get these things to work. I have quite a few F1’s that need to be converted if possible, and I could sure use some advice and some help.

      Thanks!

        Warren,

I know absolutely nothing about digital but I think one of our members might be able to help. I forwarded your message. If he is around I am sure he will be in touch.

          Hi Warren,
I think I’m the only guy running digital in the group right now, but I don’t run Carrera (I run SCX Digital), so having no experience with that brand I can’t give you any advice on the conversion. Have you tried the Slot Car Illustrated forum or Slot Forum? There will be a fairly large population of Carrera Digital users over there that could shed some light on your challenge.

Thanks for the input. I did some experimenting with one car that I had 4 of the same model. Converting them involved drilling, exacto knives, superglue, and soldering, but I have sucessfully digitalized an older F1. Now that I know what I am doing, I think the next jobs will be neater and easier.
